Have you ever seen the episode of The Office when Kevin brings chili to work? Well it was on my mind as I walked out my front door with a full instant pot on my way to a work pot luck. With this on my mind I gingerly tiptoed outside only to tumble down three steps and face plant into the gravel. To my delight my silicone lid containd every drop.     • I didn’t think I needed this but now that I have it, I use it every time I use my pressure cooker.
I wash it in the dishwasher. It seals my pressure cooker pot perfectly and I just stick the whole thing in the fridge once it’s cooled enough. Let’s be honest, pressure cooker chili doesn’t stick around long enough to warrant putting it in a different container so with this silicone top I can put it away for the night. So far I haven’t noticed it keeping any unwanted smells but it doesn’t really come into direct contact with any food as I never fill up the cooker pot that full. Long story short. No, you don’t really need it but it is very nice to have. I use it far more than I expected I would. ... show more

    • At First I Thought This Was Not the Best Fit and Sort of Floppy.....
This is a silicone lid for the 8 qt. Instant Pot. It was floppier than I thought it would be. I thought it would have a bit more rigidity even though it is silicone. It fit on the pot somewhat loosely...more like set on the pot. It did not snap down or hug the pot securely. I thought, oh--it is better than using plastic wrap, aluminum foil, or a dinner plate so I guess I will keep it, but I wish it were firmer and snugged the pot more securely, especially if I wanted to transport food for some occasion. BUT THEN, after using it in the refrigerator, the fit became snugger and the silicone became firmer. So, I guess the temperature affects the product. After I used it in the refrigerator for a few days and then washed it, it remained firmer so I am quite satisfied with the product now and would recommend it. ... show more

Love this! I wish this were a common thing for a variety of pot sizes (besides instant pots). I make a big soup/stew and eat it for lunch throughout the week. Easiest storage is to keep it in the instant pot, and covered with this, the smell does not dominate my fridge. Maybe you’re happy transferring your food to other containers, so don’t need this. I don’t have another container that would hold all of the stew easily, and if I used a pot lid (from a regular pot), the smell just filled the fridge. I use plastic wrap about 3x a year, max, so that also pushed me to look for a durable, reusable option. Will definitely buy another one when this wears out. ... show more

    • GREAT but... "too big"... still works though
Well, this is a fantastic lid, good quality silicon... but I didn't get the "other" brand because I wanted a good "fit" to the 8qt Instant Pot, yet... this is the "right" one, and it's "too big"... it's nearly 1/4" too large for the edges of the instant pot ceramic pot insert... ??? I noticed if you push down in the center (like a Tupperware type lid item) that it does the "suck and stay" kind of vacuum seal so hopefully that'll be good enough.. but really wasn't expecting the manufacturer line to have such a "miss"... Fingers crossed it'll work though regardless... we shall see... if I wanted a "loose" fitting lid, I'd just have used a pot lid I already had... ... show more

This thing is amazingly high quality and durable. Did not expect it to seal so well, kind-of vacuum seals cause you can push down in middle and it stays pushed down. Best thing I ever bought, and now I can just put my pot up without needing press and seal wrap. Definitely something people need, and will love, never realizing it until they have one. Whomever you are reading this, don't even waste less money on another brand lid that probably won't be this nice!! ... show more

Love this cover! Love to be able to store my pot in the fridge without the use of plastic wrap or a plate. The cover is of thick silicone but is not as sturdy as hard plastic. It seals well but not as tight as gladware or other containers in your cabinet. You have to make sure the lip of the cover goes over the lip of the pan to get a good seal. Once done, you do not have to be as afraid of spillage as you would be if it was just plastic wrap. 100% recommend buying for all those instant pot lovers out there! ... show more

This kid doesn’t fit my 8 qt pots correctly. I have the pot that came with the instant pot and it fits it fairly well not snug but not tight. It would not keep the smell enclosed if I put it in fridge but at least it does fairly well seal it. My non stick instant pot the lid doesn’t even come close to sealing it. It is so loose you can’t even pick the pot up by the top you must be extremely careful as it is nowhere close to sealed. I’m going to try a generic lid to see if it fits better. I didn’t try it before time to send back. ... show more
