  • I love my Instant Pot!
Size: 6 Quarts
I love my Instant Pot. I bought one for myself years ago. We decided to take it to our vacation home. Sadly, we were robbed and it was stolen! I bought another one for our home, but ended up giving that to my son. I bought one for my daughter. I then bought another one for the house to replace the one that I gave to my son…and I just bought my 5th Instant Pot, this one to take back to our vacation home, because we use it SO much and for so many things, that it’s really indispensable. Nothing else works quite like it — and believe me, we’ve tried. So if you don’t have one, get one. You’ll be happy that you did. They’re wonderful for cooking rice, pasta, oatmeal, stews, meats. You can turn shoe leather into something delicious in an Instant Pot! Macaroni cooks in 4 minutes. Rice cooks in 7 minutes and it comes out perfect every time. Steel-cut oatmeal takes 12 minutes to cook and another 10 to rest…beats the daylights out of an overnight soak on the stove and then the stovetop mess of boiling it till done. And those are just things off the top of my head. There are apps with gazillions of recipes and cooking instructions available online. The pot is easy to clean — the inner pot and the top are dishwasher safe (read the instructions for cleaning), and best of all, it just works. Every single time. This makes a great gift for someone just setting up a new kitchen. It makes a great gift for anyone who doesn’t have one! We’ve been really happy with ours — and so have the folks we’ve given them to. ... show more

  • Must-Have Kitchen Appliance
Size: 6 Quarts
The Instant Pot Duo Plus 9-in-1 is one of the most practical appliances I own. It cooks fast, saves a lot of time, and the 6-quart size is perfect for family meals. I’ve used it for rice, soups, shredded meats, vegetables, and slow cooking, and it always gives great results. The stainless-steel pot is easy to clean, and the controls are very simple to understand. One feature I really love is that the screen alerts you if the lid hasn’t been placed correctly, this makes it safer and much easier to use. Overall, a reliable, versatile, and essential multicooker ... show more

  • I enjoy my Instant pot !
Size: 6 Quarts
I’m a sucker for kitchen appliances; I love the convenience! The Instant Pots are a wonderful combination of the slow-cooker crock pot and the pressure cooker with the added convenience of digital controls. There are many versions of these units. This one is large enough for the family, has many preset cooking options and is excellent quality. It cooks perfect rice or hard-boiled eggs with one touch of a button! While it has a lot of presets, you can override most to fine tune if you want to cook foods a little more or less. The insert is easy clean stainless steel. A very nice addition to your kitchen and perhaps a wonderful gift for someone! ... show more

  • Good pressure cooker
Size: 6 Quarts
Have used the Instant Pot only once so far. I cooked lamb shanks using the pressure cooker function and natural release. The results were surprisingly good. The lamb was really tender and flavorful and not at all mushy or dry which can happen if it's overcooked. I look forward to using this function regularly. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 because the sauté function is not effective. While the bowl heats up fairly well, once food is added it loses heat quickly and doesn't seem to come back up to temperature. I put lamb shanks which were at room temperature in after it heated initially, but they never really browned. I removed them and tried to sauté mirepoix of onions, carrots, and bell pepper, but they never developed any fond. I think it's because the bowl is made of relatively thin metal and won't hold heat well. ... show more

  • The 3qt size is right for me
Size: 3 Quarts
I spent a lot of time figuring out whether the 3qt Instant Pot would be big enough to cook mainly for myself, and it's fine. Not too big for a single cup of rice or oats, and it can make a batch of soup or stew to serve four people. I have not had to halve many recipes. I've been using manual and electric pressure cookers for many years, and this is the easiest one yet. It's so simple to operate, works as it should, and YouTube is full of recipes and help if needed. I've been using my IP mostly with pressure cooker recipe books, and mostly with success, due to author Urvashi Pitre convincing me that IP recipes need a lot less liquid than I thought. As for accessories, people complain about the amount of vigorous steam that shoots out when releasing pressure. A steam diverter keeps steam away from the paint on my cupboards. I'm also finding the rather expensive glass lid worthwhile. The Sauté function makes the IP into a saucepan, and it's much better with this lid. Small disappointments: my 3qt pot came with a steam rack that lacks handles, not the one illustrated. There were also two silicone rings for the lid, which I thought was a nice touch until I discovered how easily they absorb and transmit strong odors. Garlic rice pudding, no thanks, so one ring is for savory dishes and the other for sweet. I'll be trying online suggestions for deodorizing the rings, and possibly buying spares. The camper in me was interested to see that this little IP's electrical draw is modest, just 700 watts, so it's very suitable for use with a portable power source. I wanted a pressure cooker, and the only other function I have used so far is Sauté. Winter is coming and there are so many more buttons waiting to be pressed! Lots of kitchen fun ahead, so this IP is really good value for money. ... show more

  • Well worth it.
Size: 6 Quarts
This thing is awesome, I've used it just about everyday since it arrived, it replaced my rice cooker, and crock pot, it does both freeing up more counter space, little tip in soup mode you can use it like a hotplate or electric mobile stovetop, perfect for college kids too, or more frugal people with available counter top space. At first it seems difficult to clean, but once you go through the steps it's a LOT easier then it seems, I do suggest reading the manual though. If you actually clean it after every use like it says, it keeps it super easy to clean as well. ... show more
