  • Huge appliance

This thing is huge! I’m sure it is wonderful, but you need to have a lot of counter and storage base to use it

This works so well and fast, hopefully I can get into drying fruit that feature really attracts me so another post when I do it, but it’s great and easy to use, it has a WiFi setup but I’m not tech fan but when I do the dried the directions says it will alert you if time when your cook items are cooking/baking ... show more

  • Room for improvement
Style: Wi-fi
Update 2-18-2025 I've lowered this to a 1 star. This Instapot does not see heavy use. We mainly use the air fryer and pressure cook functions for rice, potatoes, and the occasional roast. Regardless we have owned it since early December and it has already become completely useless. The lid release lever is broken and it will no longer release the lid, or lock. Normally you have to press the lever to the right to spring the latch for it to open. When using the pressure cooker you slide the lever all the way to the left to lock the lid. Now the lever slides freely all the way left or right and will not trigger lid release. - From the beginning when pressure cooking the pressure cooker insert seemed to create a slight pressure seal with the inner pot so would cause the lid to stick a little, but this seemed normal since it would create a seal when pressure cooking. That is not what is causing the issue. Even with the pressure cooker insert not installed, the lid release lever is completely broken and when you see how the mechanism works where it rotates steel plates on the inside, it just seems loud and damaged when it turns. This is after NORMAL use, no adverse conditions or drops or anything that should cause it to fail like this. - Of course, it is too late to exchange it with Amazon, though we did purchase the extended warranty with Asurion, so hopefully we can get this resolved in a timely manner without too much trouble. But if I had to pick a product again, this would not be my choice. The item it replaced was far superior and it is just unfortunate they no longer manufacture the Ninja Foodi OL-701. Original Post -- We needed to replace our Ninja Foodi OL701 and since that is no longer offered by Ninja or anything similar at this time, we decided to try this Instapot out. It seems like it will do everything our old Ninja did but a little less convenient. Do not get me wrong, so far this has been a very nice appliance but I just want to point out some things it lacks that the product it replaced had. Perhaps Instapot will consider this for future models. 1. The biggest ISSUE is that I have not been able to set up the WIFI app and remote. We would follow the instructions and it seemed like it connected only for the app to show it disconnected. I had to remove the appliance from the app and try connecting it a couple more times. The last time I tried it gave me a different message in the APP saying "Connected but Remote option not turned on in the appliance check the manual" The thing is the manual has NOTHING regarding a remote function only the WIFI instructions I had followed. There was no button on the appliance console. So I will need to contact Instapot after the Holidays to ask how to get that functioning. 2. Small issue, there is not an ON/OFF button. Even if we want to leave it on in the ready status for us to access through WIFI. There should still be an ON/OFF button. Recommendations: 1. This is a recommendation. The Ultimate LID is a lot nicer than having separate lids. However you still have to swap the Pressure cooker/steamer inner lid off and on. The Ninja Foodi OL701's lid needed no swapping out and could perform ALL its functions. So if it can be done without having to swap any parts, that would be a nice improvement for the future. 2. I was a little disappointed the only size for the ultimate lid was a 6.5qt. The Ninja Foodi OL701 was an 8qt. A larger capacity would be a nice option for the future. (Especially since air fryer baskets and stuff take up space and we need to keep separation from the lid) 3. The accessory grate for airfrying is a bit awkward as things fall off the sides and the handles take up space in the middle. The Ninja Foodi OL701 used a fry basket that sat within its main chamber this basket could be pulled out whole and not spill from the sides. I will be absolutely honest. If Ninja had not discontinued the Foodi OL701 I would have not purchased this Instapot. Though this Instapot was always the 2nd choice and the Lid of the Ninja does not need to have a part added or removed, the larger capacity, and the better-designed air-fry basket, were all reasons I purchased the Ninja in the first place and sought to replace it. That being said, the Instapot is a GOOD system and has had great reviews and much love from those who use it. Despite it falling short of the Ninja in my opinion, this is still the second-best all-in-one I have come across. Now if I can just get the WIFI component of this product to work as promised it should be a great tool for our kitchen. I only hope that Instapot considers a larger capacity, that is probably my biggest disappointment going from an 8qt to a 6.5qt. I'd have given this 4 stars if not for the WIFI issue and the poor instructions in the manual provided. ... show more

  • If I wasn't an idiot I wouldn't have had to buy the 2nd one. If I wasn't an idiot I wouldn't have had to buy the 2nd one.
Style: Wi-fi
That's how good it is. I, like an idiot, had it on top of my electric glass top stove. I pushed it back so I could cut some ingredients, but in doing that, pushed on the burner... right... under... the ...pressure cooker. Yes. I'll say it again, I'm an idiot. I tried to do without using it, but it didn't last too long. I missed my air fryer, the pressure cooker, the sauté option on the crock pot. I missed it all so much, I shelled out another $ for another one. THAT is one horrible lesson to learn. But I do love it!! ... show more

I love everything about this product. If I had seen this model before I bought the others that I have, I would not have bought them. This is the only one I would have selected. I love this item because it is very simple to use. The instructions to lock or unlock are very simple. It is very easy to use, and well worth the price listed on the website. I put mine to usage the same day I received it and had fun doing so because I was very excited. Based on my personal experience, I most certainly would recommend it to everyone. ... show more

  • Best purchase ever!
Style: Wi-fi
I used my original Instant Pot fairly regularly. When it died on my and I saw this option, all of the functionality made me jump right it. I’m so glad I did! It is extremely user friendly. It gets almost daily use and was worth every penny! I deducted one star simply because many of the Instant Pot accessories cannot be used in this model. Even though it is the same quart size as the old pot, it is shorter and wider where the original model is taller and narrower. Several things like a deep steamer basket, stacking baskets or stacking egg racks etc cannot be used in the Duo Crisp. The lid can’t close. So I have to get creative with the accessories to accomplish what I need. There is also no ceramic insert available like you can get for the original model. ... show more

  • Sometimes it doesn't seal for pressure cooking, flimsy plastic tab on inner lid
Style: Wi-fi
This might be a good buy if it's on sale but it's not really worth the $229 price, especially since it doesn't come with many accessories. This has a ton of uses but if I am in a hurry I am always afraid the pressure seal won't work and my food won't be ready in time. It happened a couple times at the beginning. It released the pressure for 15 whole minutes (so much steam!). That was my first experience with a pressure cooker but I knew that wasn't right. Keep the little gaskets clean and make sure the pressure valve wiggles up and down well before cooking. Sticky food residue could make it unmovable. I haven't had any issues since wiggling the valve before cooking. I have heard of it trapping your food inside for hours too. Not great if you are trying to make food on time. They need to sell a replacement pressure cooking lid just in case. I am worried the tiny plastic piece that locks it in place will eventually break off. It should be made of a stronger material. I would also like to have several pots to switch between for multiple side dishes in a row without washing right away. I bought some 8 in. round cake pans that fit inside the 6.5 quart pot to help with transitioning between a couple side dishes. You can use foil too. The pressure cooking lid can go in the dishwasher. I am careful and try not to crease the seal and lay it flat to dry. I love the versatility of sauteing something like onions, then adding water and other ingredients to pressure cook, then maybe baking the top to brown cheese, etc or even air frying all in one device. No need for 3 different pots or oven, skillet, broiler. This might work well in an RV or small kitchen as an all-in-one device to save space. I can make a basic box macaroni in 3-4 minutes (plus pre-heat and pressure release time), just throw in water and all ingredients. No waiting for boil and stepping away to have your pot boil over, no draining the macaroni. Just preheat time and stir once. Make sure you add less water than the box says or it will be soupy (but if that happens, you can just saute the liquid out right in the Instant Pot!) Then I will bake cheese on top right in the Instant Pot too. The wifi and app is kind of neat at times but it could be so much better. I thought you could connect Instant Pot to Alexa (idk why I needed to but I tried lol) but the Alexa Instant Pot skill wasn't available. The recipes on the app are neat because if you have all the ingredients, it will guide you through what to do at each step and set the Instant Pot settings for you. The app will tell you which part of the process your device is on so you can be in another room or outside and check in. If there is something you make a lot, it saves your previous setting from last time. The on-screen words show up and disappear too fast. It will beep and say to ADD FOOD but it disappears faster than most people would see it. ... show more
