I got the 10awg CCA red/black. At first I thought I was getting an amazing deal but it turned out to just be a normal price. I didn't realize that CCA stands for copper clad aluminum. I thought it was tinned copper. That's not what it is. I found that this 10awg is comparable in working amperage to 12awg OFC. Which means oxygen free copper. So on my latest order I switched to the 12 awg OFC rather than this aluminum wire. I prefer using that stuff rather than this. The pvc jacket does melt easily if your soldering. If using helping hand after soldering it most likely will have a melt split where the hand was clamped. Especially if doing XT60 connections this 10g is harder to use. It's wider than using pure copper 12g. So the entire end of 10awg does not fit in an XT60. This aluminum wire is nice and floppy but I also worry about the aluminum eventually breaking. I know aluminum is very brittle when bent multiple times. After realizing all these points, I'm likely to choose 12awg OFC rather than this 10Awg CCA of comparable price. ... show more

Very nice product. Silicon insulation means it is very flexible, not stiff like most wire. I was able to easily run it around my engine bay from the battery connection at the starter to a relay I installed for the fuse box, neatly tucking away most of it from view.

Well, it -is- 10 gauge wire and it has an interesting looking sleeve and it might work ok if you just crimp a connector on it but I needed to be able to solder it and had no luck at all. Solder sort of looks like its going to stick and then doesn't. I gave it three stars because it probably -is- usable but it didn't work for me. I'll have to admit that I just realized that this is "copper clad aluminum" so if the thin copper coating doesn't stay on, solder definitely won't stick to aluminum. My bad for missing that point. ... show more
