I do a lot of nature trails, and rugged usage with my camera, and yes I take this remote control with me. 3 years later it is still working. I recommend this to a lot of my friends that take pictures through their Nikon cameras. Remote control range?     • For starters, why not! multiple triggering!
I like this shutter release for two reasons: It works on my Nikon D610 and my Nikon 1 J1… at the same time! I just did a maternity shoot with my wife and I had both cameras set up and facing different directions. Once I hit the button, my Nikon D610 triggered right along with my J1. Granted, I was in a small space but it worked that's all that mattered and the setting was a home studio. For the price I'd definitely buy more and recommend this product. Do note that it's not perfect by far but it does work when aimed nicely and in range (short range) but in range regardless. This is no professional trigger so you don't have bells and whistles. This is not branded shutter release goodness but it does the job and that's fine. Pros: - works on J1 (mirror less) & D610 (FX D-SLR) - Can trigger multiple cameras in range at same time - comes with carry cloth and is packable (it counts when you need to fit a bunch of small gadgets somewhere and isn't burdensome…) - inexpensive Cons: - short range - doesn't allow for focusing with press of the button just image capturing - doesn't trigger %100 (however, not even branded triggers do) You be the judge. This is a fairly priced shutter release and to start, it's fine. Seriously, unless you're trying to do on-location shooting where you want a good distance between you and the camera, pay more and get a branded shutter release/trigger. DO NOT try and take this to a wedding shoot or any high end shoot where you need serious reliability. Close quarter triggering, yes. Distance, no. Get it, it's cheap, you won't regret it, use it for walk arounds and macro photography. ... show more

Dead on arrival. The camera did not respond to the remote at all. I pointed the remote at my phone's camera and saw no flashing when pressing the button. I thought the included battery was dead, but then I tested the battery with my multimeter and it was fully charged. UPDATE They sent a new one and it now works like a charm! I have no clue what was wrong with the first one, but this one works great! I updated my rating to 4 stars because the remote works great, but I shouldn't have had to request a replacement for what is effectively a single button and an IR LED. I use this with my Nikon 1 J1 and can use it from behind the camera! I plan to use it for capturing traditional animation to avoid camera shake. ... show more

I purchase one of these a few years ago for my own use and after my daughter brought a new Nikon camera herself, I purchased this as a gift for her. I've found this to be a very useful and reliable remote control for my Nikon D90 and D7000 for several years now. The quality is very good and the battery has so far, lasted since my purchase. The case that comes with it is easily attached to your camera strap for fast access. I've used this for pictures of birds, setting my camera on a tripod outside my window and arranging the camera so i could get a clear view of the front in order to use the remote control, but out of site of the birds in order to not scare them away. I've found this remote very useful in many different types of situations. Photos of you in the photo are easy to take and still be able to conceal the remote while taking the photo. due to it's size.     • Nice wireless remote control
I love it and it's compatible with my Nikon D-5100, and it's very useful in terms of taking photos on a tripod, or on a flat surface, so it's a "win-win" for me to have a wireless remote control in my possession, and to carry around in my camera bag whenever I want to use it at anytime.

    • Good product, configuring the DSLR was a bit challenging
It is a good product. Letters on instructions sheet are a bit tiny. Make sure to setup your Nikon DSLR camera for wireless remote shooting, otherwise you may try and try and keep trying taking photos with the device and you may think it is not working,but actually it does work once you setup your Nikon DSLR, the only thing you must be aware off is the fact that this device does not take continuous photos, ie, each time you press button device, you have to go into your camera to reconfigure or setup the wireless option, again, that is what I experienced with my Nikon D5500 ... show more
