Works as its supposed to, provides steady power for my amps when other wise id have voltage drops, my system has 2700 watts between 3 amps using 130 amp alternator and this capacitor i havent had any power issues even at very high volumes with heavy bass track playing, installation was simple with excellent instructions. If and when you need to discharge it i recommend holding the resister with a pair of needle nose pliers because it will get hot enough to burn you. Only thing is I wish they proved something to shield its taps from accidental touching, otherwise im very happy with the purchase. The price is reasonable too compared to others that due the same thing, accessing the the light dimming screw is simple i recommend doing it discharged then recharging to see how it looks may take a couple goes to find somewhere your happy. I havent had any issues with it negatively effecting the battery life. Sound quality is the same but instead of the bass being dialed down it stays consistent. the capacitance is accurate tested with a meter it truly is a 2.5 farad. Very well made and durable, the plastic mounts make it easy to mount although I had to take a sanding dremmel to sand down the rim of one of the mounts so I could slide it up the capacitor, the way it was kept it at the bottom side of it, the inside lip would prevent it from going any higher, after sanding it down i was able to slide both mounts anywhere on the capacitor made mounting much easier ... show more

seems to work ok, but it doesn't help with long, hard bass hits. I really don't think it does anything noticable, but doesn't seem to hurt. the most useful thing about it is that it tells me my battery voltage.

First one came and was faulty. When charged to 14V, it would fully discharge in less than 5 seconds. This means it has an internal fault. Let's see if the replacement works.

This guy is awesome. I got this thing and it is a bit overkill for what I’m using it for, but it does its job well. I used to have voltage drops low enough to literally bog my amplifier at kick drums. Nothing dims. It has an automatic turn off, so you don’t need to wire another remote wire. The size is a little big, but it’s a 2.5 farad so I’m not surprised. It gives out a fair bit of juice. I like it. ... show more
