This guy is awesome. I got this thing and it is a bit overkill for what I’m using it for, but it does its job well. I used to have voltage drops low enough to literally bog my amplifier at kick drums. Nothing dims. It has an automatic turn off, so you don’t need to wire another remote wire. The size is a little big, but it’s a 2.5 farad so I’m not surprised. It gives out a fair bit of juice. I like it. ... show more

I used this capacitor with my subs because my lights were dimming every time the bass dropped. Very easy to install, if you don’t know what you are doing take some time and do your research because if something gets hooked up backwards you could fry your amplifier or your car battery depending on the circumstances. make sure you have the correct gage wiring for the watts you’re running. Overall I have had 0 problems with this product and it stopped my lights from dimming and did exactly what it was supposed to do. For anyone who doesn’t know, the capacitor is basically power stored from your car battery and instead of the amplifier pulling power from your battery it will pull it from the capacitor instead, saving your battery a lot of stress in the long run. ... show more

    • junk, literally dont buy this, served no benifit to anything.
Despite all of the reviews saying it didn't do anything, I didn't listen and bought it anyways. I had server dimming and voltage drop in my 2017 Civic. I bought this unit, and spent another $40 on wire and crimps to hook it in. It did absolutely nothing, still had voltage drop. If you are having dimming, what you need to do is either replace your battery with a a bigger AGM or Deep Cycle one, add another battery in the back to support your system, or upgrade your alternator. This will not fix a single thing, and will just lead to you wasting time and money. It also did nothing to improve sound quality, which was another claim it had. God bless amazon's return policy, allowing me to return this hunk of junk. All in all, 1/10 does nothing for your system. looks cool thought which is why it got that extra 1 point. ... show more

Item is ok and small enough to mount in the location. But, once hooked up, initial charge: I used the resistor that came with unit, used a different resistor, used a test light, then used 12v 194 bulb which would up being ok to make final connection.
