As someone who really knows zilch about car stereos, my review certainly isn't the most knowledgeable. What I can tell though for sure is, this is NOT 8 gauge wire, and I certainly am not surprised. why? Because of the price, this kit is honestly too good to be true. the CABLE is 8 gauge, but the actual copper is probably half that size (or double i suppose) but does it work? absolutely, it's a great essentials kit that will let your weekend project be a breeze since it comes with just enough to put together a cheap audio system. Though I agree, it is false advertising, it again is decently priced. Overall this is a fair kit I suggest amateurs and beginners should consider because it has what you need. Don't expect a lot from a product that has a "too good to be true" price. That also goes the other way around, if a product is extremely pricey, that doesn't mean it's good either. Take your pick, this is something that gave me a successful first time audio install in about a couple hours so I really did enjoy the cheap price tag. Want a professional install? Hire someone or spend your money somewhere else. ... show more

Comes with everything you need to hook up a small amp. All cords where long enough. the bright red color looks great. Cable was a little thin but it is only 8 Guage. Quality and price match. And it functions as it should

This product definitely meets the reputation of boss amongst the car audio community and not in a good way. It will get you going but that's about the end of anything good I can say about it. If starting out in this hobby. Please do not use this kit to power any amplifier over 800 watts RMS at the most. If using this for your mids and highs on a midrange or lower budget 400watt 2 channel amplifier this might be about perfect for that. The power and ground wire provided is about 80% rubber insulation and 20% actual wire. Also note that this is CCA and low quality CCA at that. Not OFC or any other type of pure stranded copper. The wire is such low quality that you can literally just pull it apart with minimal effort. I cannot comment or review the quality of the rca cables because I do not know enough about them to give a reliable review. Lastly for those starting off into the hobby as I imagine that you would be If you're viewing this product power is EVERYTHING in a system. You have to have it to make it. I know money is tight to a lot of people including myself but wire should not be where you make cuts in your budget and I learned this from trial and error through actual experience as well as research. If you are running an amplifier that actually puts out over 1,000 watts rms and calls for 4 awg you need to invest in quality ofc wire such as nvx. If possible get an adapter and run 2 runs of it power and ground. You need to look up the "big 3" and do that. This is all very very important. You do not want your power to bottleneck your system. It will run on crappy wire but will significantly reduce output and sound quality. Trust me. I learned the hard way ... show more

This was a good kit for adding a subwoofer. The worst item in the kit is the black flex loom as it is thin and really unusable if it was folded. It is too small of a diameter to wrap all your wires and probably just made to cover your remote wire and speaker wire. Power will not fit in it with the other wires too. ... show more
