Description

The INNO INA744 Board Locker Surfboard Roof Rack is the best way to lock and transport boards on the roof of your car. The surf carrier features a ratcheting tension system that allows you to securely lock down your board with ease. For protection and security there are rubber cushions and locking covers and keys included, respectively. For vehicles with larger factory crossbars consider the INNO Racks ISF711 Long Bolt Adapter Kit. Protect your surfboard on long road trips with the Inno Board Locker, the ultimate board carrier for serious surfers. The rack includes a ratcheting mechanism for secure tightening. The Board Locker features a universal mounting system that attaches to square, round, and most factory crossbars, so you can load your surfboard on almost any type of car. It's also easy to load your surfboard thanks to the floating strap system and ratcheting tightening mechanism. Most importantly for frequent travelers, the Board Locker includes keys and locks to accompany the rubber-coated stainless-steel straps and rubber cushions. Now you can carry three short boards or two long boards without scratching your vehicle or putting your boards at risk when you walk into a restaurant. A long bolt kit is available for cars with oversized bars. • Great Surfboard Racks
Pattern Name: Transport Rack
One thing I hate most about surfing is scrambling around my Highlander trying to get the board strapped on the roof especially after a long surf session. With a long board I have to use the racks. Thule makes a decent surf solution but still wasn't exactly what I'm looking for. The Inno mount is a pretty great product. Easy to install and fits pretty well on my Highlander stock cross bars. It is so easy to get your board in and out of the rack and beats using straps any day. Also I frequently bring my board to work for a quick after work session and know I don't have to worry about my board getting stolen at all. As the other reviewers state the one small downside is you will hear some noise because its pretty tall but it doesn't bother me much. The greatest feature about the racks is the arm that keeps the strap up so you never have to get to the top of your vehicle. Just unlock the 2 locks, slide the board in from the back, crank them both down, lock and you're done. This saves me 5 minutes in and out of the water and for that alone the racks are worth it. ... show more

  • INNO is The Best Surfboard Rack Ever
Pattern Name: Transport Rack
Quite simply, the best surfboard rack I have ever owned. I utilized the straps for years. Straps always needed adjusting, were prone to wind noise at highway speeds & took extra minutes to install if doing so alone. The INNO is fantastic: easy to install on the factory stock rack crossbars of my 2006 Toyota FJ; carries three boards (and I have, many times, driven 3-6 hrs with three longboards up there with no issues); rapid ease of use; locking straps (I have left the boards on the rack overnight when at hotels on more occasions than I can count); & truly one-person load / unload of boards. A buddy of mine turned me on to the INNO, on his BMW. Without question, worth every penny for this superb, top-quality product. ... show more

  • Better than I expected
Pattern Name: Transport Rack
== Update after much usage === After using this for a while I like it even more. I timed it: It take 25 seconds to pull the board from my garage and get it loaded onto the rack. It takes 18 seconds to take it off the rack and put it away. I don't even bother putting my short board in my car any more. It's easier to just throw it on the rack. I've taken the rack off for a couple of road trips and it's about 2 minutes to put it back on the car. Some of the best money I've ever spent. == Original review == * Easily mounted to my factory bars in a few minutes. Same mount as the ski rack I have from the same manufacturer. Way better than the Thule mount on my bike rack. Once it's set up there's no threading of anything. Just release a latch and it pops right off or back on. Simple, fast and secure. I'd like to buy a beer for the engineer who designed it. * Super simple usage. Throw the boards up there. Attach the loop. Crank it down. * Holds the boards more securely than straps and pads that I used before. There's no risk of the boards sliding side to side so you don't really have to crank down so hard on the boards. With the straps I always felt like I had to pull them super tight to keep my longboard from moving. * No more throwing straps over the car and running in circles. * I carry a big thick long board and a fun board. It would hold another board easily. * BONUS: Since the boards sit a bit higher off of the rails you gain a little more clearance if you have a tailgate. The tailgate of my FX 35 now goes up a bit more before hitting the board. This thing took the biggest pain about surfing and made it simple. Easily worth the money. Buy one. ... show more

  • Racks don't fit my cars, zero customer service
Pattern Name: Transport Rack
I purchased these surfboard racks from Amazon. The product itself looks nice, and it arrived quickly and was well packaged. However, the bolts that were included did not fit either of my car racks (Porsche Cayenne and Audi A3, both of which have OEM cross bars). The included bolts are approximately 3" or 3 1/2" long, and I need something like 4" or 4 1/2". After receiving the racks, I tried calling innoracks.com and emailing them, as well as trying the online fit guide. The online fit guide directed me to one of their "long bolt kits". I ordered this and it did not fit (the bolts had different ends so do not lock in, and in addition, were no longer than the original included bolts). I tried ordering yet a different long bolt kit. That one did not fit. (By the way, a trip to Home Depot was fruitless since standard 1/4" machine bolts do not fit either.) I have repeatedly tried calling their Torrance, CA customer service / technical support line but only get voicemail. These guys have absolutely no customer service. $200 in racks/bolts down the drain. I will try to sell this junk on craigslist and hope to get $50. Do yourself a favor - don't buy this - it's not worth the hassle. Just stick with regular straps. My gripe is not so much with the lack of fit of the racks (even though though product description states that it will fit virtually any factory cross bar), but is with total lack of response via phone or email over the course of 4 weeks from customer service. ... show more
