  • Works great, right out of the box.
I did have to look up online how to set it up for my camera. But then it took just a minute to get it synced with my Sony mirrorless camera. You do have to face it to the camera lens when you press the button. But if you have your camera set to a 3 or 10 second timer (as you should) then it’s no issue at all. Aim, press, and then pose. Works great for the intended purpose I bought it for. Which was to take family pictures ourselves, without bugging someone to take our picture. I was hesitant to buy this product because of the very low price compared to all the others that were up to 5 times more. But I figured I’d just return it if it doesn’t work. I honestly was surprised at how well it does work. So yeah, great product for the price you pay. No need to get the more expensive ones. I’ll update with a pic of it later. ... show more

  • Good investment for the price
I enjoy the size and weight of this product. I also enjoy it coming in a keychain form that I can easily attach to my bag or hold onto with my finger. I am one of those that like more neutral colors, so I wish instead of red font it would be silver or white. Sometimes I have a problem with it syncing to my camera, but most of the time it works. For the price, it is still a good investment. ... show more

  • Thumbs up!
I had a JJC remote before and it worked great. I choose this mini model because it has a keychain hole so I can hang it on lanyard and have it handy. have my hands free when making camera adjustments and prevent loss. At first I thought it didn't work. The instructions were stuck at the bottom of the box and didn't fall out when I reversed the package. It uses a CR 2025 button battery which isn't that expensive or hard to find. The remote worked just fine after I corrected the battery position as shown in the instructions. I included a pic showing how to position the battery in the tray so others won't make the same mistake. I tried out the regular shutter release, the 2 second delay and the video buttons and they all worked just fine. There is a slight delay with the regular shutter button but I figure that is because it's focusing. I purchased a simple corded remote shutter release as well. With that one I can half press the button to focus and I have a shutter hold button plus if the batteries die on the IR remote I have it as an option. There are times when I would want to use a IR remote over the corded such as when I'm at the beach and don't want to risk getting sea spray in my ports. Remember when aiming the IR remote the camera sensor for it is on the front so aim it at the front sensor as people seem to forget that and then wonder why the remote doesn't work or work well. For the price and convenience I have to give this remote 5 stars. If I will update this review if I have any issues but so far so good. ... show more

  • Replacing Garbage after 2 Months
You should just invest even a few more dollars into...any other piece of hunk of junk plastic. I always wait to write reviews, ESPECIALLY when garbage companies (like this one did) put a bunch of extraneous paper in the packaging to rush you to go review, or to contact them for a replacement instead of contacting amazon or reviewing. It's a surefire way to know you're getting scammed, and I was :) The middle button wears down immediately. So you have a controller you need to do backflips to use in the first place (see other reviews about the battery placement) and it becomes absolutely unusable in less than a month. I only got this remote for the delayed shutter button, which is now completely obselete. I can feel the other buttons slowly wearing down and becoming less responsive, too. ... show more

  • Essential tool for less than $10
If your shoot from a tripod, then you know that activating the shutter remotely is essential. No sense in manually pressing the shutter and put on a timer when a solution this cheap is available. Buy at least two of them. Range is good, I can fire my shutter from about 10 feet away no problem. Very easy to use. Go to the menu and turn the infrared on. The infrared sensor is on the shutter button side of the camera. Point the remote to it, and press the top button for immediate actuation, the middle button for a 2 second timer, or the bottom button to start recording a video. Doesn’t get any more simple than that. ... show more

  • disappointed
It must be very close to the camera otherwise it doesn't work. In addition, it doesn't support continuous shooting...

  • No more running to beat the timer!
Bought this for our trip to Zion National Park and I’m so happy I did!! My significant other used it to get a video of our engagement!! It is very easy to use and connected with my Sony a6000 with ease. Must be in front of the camera so the laser is able to connect. Highly recommend this product!
