This is my first time installing roof rails, took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. It's not difficult to install i just couldn't find any videos on this particular brand/model so i had to read the instructions which makes it a bit more difficult but once you understand them you'll see that it's easy to install. BTW if the holes on the front bracket don't align with the rail holes know that you can bend the ends of the brackets up or down easily to align them. After reading the many negative reviews and horror stories about the holes not aligning, gaps and the material I decided to try it my self anyways. Why not? Its free returns so I have nothing to lose other than 1-2hrs on my day off from work. I started with the drivers side since most complaints are of that side… well, fitment was 100% spot on, passenger side was a breeze. Total install time taking my time was about 45 mins. Makes me think that the people who had problems either got a bad product, which could be easily returned. I am by no means a mechanic but I was prepared to tackle any problems and trouble shoot them. The only thing that I did was bend the brackets up about 1/4” on both sides, took 5 seconds and every screw hole aligned well. I got lucky with a revised or good product? Maybe. No gaps, no miss aligned bolt holes, no broken of missing pieces. Ive read even the oem from the dealer has fitment issues in the drivers side. ... show more

If this rack didnt look so good to me then I wouldve rated this 1-2 stars. The install was rather infuriating. The screws on my left rack were not lining up properly and it took me almost an hour just to finally get it right. What should have been a 20 minute install took nearly 2 hours to finish so beware future buyers. ... show more

    • Very Nice Alternative to Factory Tacoma Roof Racks
We are very pleased with this set of roof racks for our 2015 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab truck. It was relatively easy to install. Take your time, don't tighten everything until you have both sides in place and everything should line up fine with some nudging. We use it for our canoe along with a hitch bar rack. My only concern is protecting the crossbars when pulling the canoe over them. I ended up getting 1" winter pipe insulation tubes but there are products on the market for a better way. Compared to factory racks, these are a great and affordable option. ... show more

    • Take your time to install, watch a few videos on YouTube.
These units are not the best quality but for the $$ not bad, it took me about 45 minutes to install. I watched some you tube vids because the instructions suck. The driver side bar head did not pull all the way tight to my rig, the snap pins are not big enough to hold it tight. I’ll buy bigger strong snaps to rectify this. Then when I did passenger side I bent the front braces Head and butt to hold bar head down more and that seemed to do the trick. I am still going to install larger snaps just incase. Once I have used these a few time for my kayaks and a full gated rack that attaches to this, I’ll give another review on how it held up. ... show more

    • Broke in a drive-through car wash
Installation was okay, but you have to start all the bolts and leave them loose to pull and tug to get them all started. The cross-beams were wobbly to the touch. I put some collapsable kayak holders on them. They did alright with the two kayaks strapped in for a two our drive. But when I took my Tacoma through a drive-through car wash today, the overhead washer caught the front rack and ripped it out of it's socket. It bent the cross beam, snapped some plastic from the rack off, and dented my truck's roof. I'll be taking them off this weekend and putting the weather strips back on until I can find a better rack for my kayaks. ... show more

Great fit and looks amazing! Just leave all the rail screws loose then open the rails, snap in place and tighten screws. Might have to lift the unit to get the screws started.

The media could not be loaded. I’ll just say, I’m glad this is a temporary set up. You get what you pay for, but then again I still believe this is over priced for the quality. The rack was scratching up easily (and I was being uber careful). As everyone said, the holes DID NOT line up correctly. The planned 30 min install turned into 2hrs due to having difficulty installing the screws and trying to make sure the cheap plastic was flushed to the roof of the truck. As you can see, I was unsuccessful. I read the instructions over and over again to make sure I wasn’t messing up, and still you can see the results. Haven’t drove with it yet so I’m curious/concerned about what it’s going to do. We just need this for our cross country road trip. When I arrive, I’m gonna rip this out and get a prinsu rack. Reason why I haven’t gone the prinsu rack route is due to the shipping lead time is over 8 weeks and we need to leave In about 3-4 weeks. It’ll do its job for now… I seriously hope.
