When you have guests around, these lamps will become an immediate topic of discussion thanks to their sophisticated appearance, which is exemplified by their streamlined body and eye-catching frosted ABS shade. Let's move on to the next topic, which is the touch control function. Simply touching the base of the lamp in order to turn it on or off is an extremely easy method of operation. No more stumbling about in the dark trying to find the switch or groping around for the cord in order to turn off the light before going to bed. The touch control enables me to easily modify the brightness levels to suit my mood, whether I need a gentle, warm glow for late-night reading or a stronger light for accomplishing duties at my desk. I can do this in a matter of seconds thanks to the touch control. The kind of light that these lights put off is, in my opinion, one of their most crucial characteristics. These are great little touch lamps. The 3 levels of brightness have off between so it's low-off-med-off-high-off. Once you get that you're good. The touch sensitivity is great, anywhere on the base or neck. Took off 1 star because the lamp shades are super cheap plastic. If you're using just these for light in a room you don't really notice, but during the day they're kinda tacky. Not enough to send them back but might have to swap those out. ... show more

This is on me- should have paid closer attention to the materials and sizing. That said, the low price makes more sense, and they seem sturdy enough, and look good when they are the only light in the room. The shade reminds me of a thick plastic cup, and the base looks and feels like gold sparkle painted plastic rather than brass (the description says nickel- probably coated- I was just searching for brass and this came up so I shouldn't have assumed). They are much smaller than they look in the perspective of the photos (especially the one with the couch), but they do match the description measurements. Again- that's on me. I do like the charging options at the base, and with no glass they won't break- keeping them for a kid's room. ... show more

I have this theme going in the house with curves in gold. I got these to light my books case nook/library in the living room. I already have overhead lighting so I wanted some good low light. They are bright they come with a light bulb, they are really well packaged the shade is plastic but looks like glass. They are a fully 14.5 inches. They have 2 USB ports per lamp. Classic modern elegance. Would be perfect bedside lamps. Or as a desk lamp. The bulbs are really bright ... show more

I bought this lamp after reading many reviews. There were pros and cons. Enough negatives that I definitely hesitated, then I took a chance. Another reviewer described the lamp shade as a "cheap plastic cup". Wow. Very well said. Also, as many reviewers stated, there is an Edison bulb but you can't see it at all because the cheap plastic "frosted" cup totally obscures it. All in all, this is at best a 3-star lamp because of the lamp shade. Darn, that shade is cheap. Took me quite a while to figure out what you had to look for if you wanted a *better* replacement lamp shade. The shade would need to be a "cylinder" shade, and it would need 1 5/8" fitter. I looked lots of places, but actually the replacement shade on Amazon. OSALADI Glass Pendant Light Amber Glass Lamp Shade Simple Glass Lamp Cover Cylinder Glass Lamp Shade for Floor Lamps,Pendant Light and Table Lamp Fixture Replacement Globes & Shades The description of this cylindar shade did not describe its fitter size! I simply eyeballed the shade, and decided to take a chance, and I ordered. Luckily its fitter size is 1 5/8". Perfect match. The image I have attached shows the lamp with the new amber cylinder lamp shade. It looks a *lot* better. No more cheap plastic cup lamp shade! The amber lamp shade cost a bit over $20.
