I almost passed on this unit due to a few bad reviews. I'm so glad I bought it. One person stated it could not draw water from 17 feet away. That was the main review that got my attention. My swimming pool is well over 20 feet away from my pump. I installed this pump a week ago and it's much quieter than my old Hayward. It's also a 2hp and my Hayward was a 1.5hp. This pump pushes water way harder than my Hayward. It actually creates ripples across my pool (lol). Also, I guess they tool the feedback and my kit included a 2" connector as well as a 1.5" connector. It was straightforward and easily connected to my existing pipes. You can't beat this pump for the money! So far I am extremely happy.

Excellent value for the purchase price. The pump works well and my pop-up cleaning heads are functioning properly which means I am getting the needed flow rate. Had a minor problem with a seal, but customer service quickly took care of the problem.

*I am not being paid for this review* At first, we really disliked this pump. It was constantly shooting our pool hose off (at the output) as soon as we kicked it on, spewing water EVERYWHERE. We could NOT figure out why this was happening but was super frustrated cause we lost quite a bit of water in the process, just after spending a hefty penny on filling the pool for the season. Amongst other problems we were having with the pool itself, we were beyond frustrated & almost sent the pump back! After deciding to hard plumb the pool, instead of using regular flex pool hoses, we had an INSTANT FIX. We constructed our pvc set up ourselves so it would fit perfectly to the pumps input and output and we also set up a water valve on the PVC so when we need to clean the basket, we just turn the valve & open the bottom pressure gasket so water doesn’t spew everywhere. Only feature that we don’t like is the pump basket. There is no true way to catch fine particles or bugs (flying ants, gnats etc) in the basket provided & there is no information listed about being able to use a pump cartridge insert in this model. We have set up a simple $15 surface skimmer with a skimmer basket “sock” to try to catch these fine particles, but a lot still gets through, leading to a lot of manual skimming. Overall we love this pump & once the bugs (no pun intended) were fixed, it works like a champ!

This pump is not very noisy at all. Easy to install. No leaks. I am running a 12,000 gallon plus salt water pool and this works great. We will see how long it lasts….

I had a broken housing on my 1HP Sta-Rite system after 15 years. I decided to get the Bomgie 2HP. The first one would only click on, then off in 1 second. I found loose wiring in the unit, tightened it, but it only ran for 5 min, then cut off. It would start again after about 5-10 min, but cut off after about 1 minute over and over. I thought the unit was bad, as the wiring was wrong at the start. I ordered a replacement, and it would also only run for a couple minutes and then shut off, just like the first pump. I bought a new housing for my old, old pump, did the piping again, because the threads do not match on inlet or outlet. My 15 year old Sta-Rite kicked on and is running perfectly after replacing my cracked housing. I really wanted the Bomgie to work, but it was probably pushing half the volume as my old 1HP pump and just didn’t work for my 19k gallon in-ground pool needs. I tried 2 Bomgie pumps, but neither would do the job. The old 1 HP Sta-Rite is much quieter than the Bomgie 2HP pump too. I really wanted it to work, but I’m staying with my old, rusted 1HP Sta-Rite. I guess you get what you pay for. I’m happy they take returns at Bomgie!!! So bummed neither one was sufficient.

I have an inground pool. this pump replaces my old 1 1/2 horse pump. It was easy to install and gives my system better circulation power without changing the presser on my system.

I have an 18,000 gallon pool. I replaced a 1hp pump with this pump thinking it would be more than adequate but it isn't pulling enough water to activate the heater. The company has warrantied the pump and so I'm going to try to the new one and see if that fixes the problem. Great customer service!
