I wish I had purchased this thing sooner!! I've long envied people's $$$ espresso machines, but couldn't justify the cost or the space investment in my kitchen. One of my friends was telling me that she uses a little stovetop espresso maker so I did some looking and found this darling little light weight stainless steel option(aluminum free!). It took me a couple uses to figure it out, but once I did, I was able to quickly make perfect cups of delicious espresso! I knew I wanted something that made a good amount and this 6-cup size is working well for us. It comes out to about 8oz of espresso. Since we like to make iced drinks, I just make a batch and then keep it in the fridge so it's cold and ready. Dare I say my shaken espressos and iced machiattos are better than any we've purchased in coffee shops and SO much cheaper! ... show more

My induction stove barely recognizes this pot. It is barely magnetic, but the stove still manages to detect it on the smallest burner. Make sure that the pot covers the entire inner circle of your smallest burner; otherwise, it may not be recognized. That's what happened with my two front burners. I thought the pot was defective until I tried it on the somewhat smaller rear burner. Once it found a home, it makes excellent moka espresso, so long as the lower pot is filled to just below the release valve. The upper and lower pots are well made and screw together easily, and are made of a durable stainless steel. It actually looks better than the picture in the description. the lid and hinge seem a bit flimsy, and that is my only complaint. The coffee basket holds between 18 and 20 grams of espresso, and the lower pot holds about 200 ml of water, about the equivalent of 3 demitasse cups of espresso after subtracting the amount left in the pot after brewing. I found that anything less than 128 ml will not result in good pressure, and the pot will sputter through the spout. I can't compare the results with similar more expensive name brand pots; but I'm satisfied with the 4 oz brews I have made. ... show more

Awesome product, I've used it for two weeks now. SO MUCH BETTER than the ALUMINUM product Imusa is known for. This is for a 4 cup review, trust me you don't want get a smaller one than this. Each serving is only 2 ounces. So it gives about 4-5 ounces of coffee and I add equivalent in heated milk and it works fine. Other reviews say the inside of the bottom water container is sharp so be careful. Other than that it works really well. Clean thoroughly with water after every use. ... show more

UPDATE: Well, it lasted over a year, about 15 months anyway. For the price when I bought it, that's like a dollar a month. Not gonna complain about that. So the little rubber o-ring came out of the pressure relief valve. It was broken but I tried to put it back in anyways. Ran a test run and no steam would come out of the valve, so that's an immediate fail. Safety, people! Just toss it, or find a new valve. Don't take chances with heat and pressure. But yeah, it makes a mean cup of "almost espresso." Time to order another one, cause I'm not going to roll the dice on another brand when this was great for the time it lasted. I could still use it safely without the o-ring, but that would be pointless because it wouldn't build the proper amount of pressure. Great product, in my opinion. Use Lavazza! ... show more

This is a very nice and well made coffee pot. Well constructed of very solid stainless steel material. Super easy to set up and use. The instructions are clear and very easy to understand. And you don't need a tamper to press the grinds firm. You get a delicious cup of your favorite coffee. Now, that being said. My headline. The 'But...' OK. The IMUSA USA B120-22062M Expresso Maker, ASIN B001AS5290, as shown on the Amazon product page, is advertised as producing 6 cups. For those familiar with expresso, and the commonly used and known 'demi tass' size, the standard fluid amount for that cup is 2oz. Now. I poured water into the water retainer up to the pressure valve as per the instructions, then I poured that into my kitchen measuring cup. What was the amount? A tad over 8oz. On the reverse side of the measuring cup it showed just over 250 milliliters, I'm guessing about 274ml. OK. There are 29.5735296 ml. in a fluid once. Divide that into 275oz, you get 9.2988562312156. Divide that by 2, and you get 4.6494281156078. Loosely translated, 4 and something cups. So. The '6' cup model...IS NOT 6 cups! And the product page has no mention specifically of the fluid amount per cup of coffee. I took photos of the water chamber, the steel ruler shows the water level up to 1 3/8th", then of the measuring cup with the water from that chamber. And no. It's not a fake. Like I said, this is a vey nice expresso maker. I contacted Amazon and explained the situation to them. I chose to return it, as I initially bought this coffee maker for 6 cup use.
