This was a super find!! I have 4 cats and 2, 5 lb. dogs. I no longer have to have the cat litter out. Nor do I have to have their food bowls in my kitchen! They all are able to come and go to the landing going downstairs for food and water. The cats go to the very bottom of the steps for the litter box. I have two of these interior cat doors in my house now and can see myself adding more! They are very simple to install. It took me less than 30 minutes start to finish by myself. No more will the cats get trapped and not be able to access their litter boxes when doors are accidentally shut! I got the XL size since I have 3 cats and one is a Maine Coon. I installed myself. It is easy to install but hard to line up. I used the template to draw the shape onto my door. I cut it out and screwed the door on. That is where my line up problem was occuring. I got a 2nd pair of hand to help and problem solved. My cat loves it. I keep her food and litter away from the dog. Everyone thinks it is cute. It was a lil bigger than I needed to keep the puppy out. I have cute videos of him stuffing himself through lol. Look for Niko on fb.
