Bambu Lab X1C 0.4mm Nozzle 0.2mm layer height Generic Silk PLA stock profile I was trying to use this to make small keychains of a balloon dog. If you fill the build plate up you do get good color change. I found that the layer adhesion of this filament is a pretty weak. I started with standard settings 2 walls, 3 top and bottom layers. But I could easily break the legs off of the balloon dog. No way it would hold up in someone's pocket. So I increased it to 5 walls, 5 top, 5 bottom layers and it was the same thing. Then as a test, I went for 100% infill to see what the max strength would be. And even at 100% infill I was still able to snap the legs off with ease. I tried boosting the temperature to increase strength and layer adhesion -- the strength was much better when I bumped up the temperature by 5-10 degrees, but then you loose the shine on the outer walls, and it really dulled down the silk look of this filament. I'm hesitant to deduct stars from the filament because after doing some research, it appears that silk PLA is known to be structurally weak, and is best used for ornamental or decorative items--and it should generally not be used for anything functional or that might have repeated stress. Keep this in mind when ordering.

We were pleased with the dual color filament of the same brand, so we ordered tri color. It is SOOO pretty, but everything breaks so easily! For example, the "Christmas dragon" was our first print with it, and while taking off supports, a front leg snapped off. Thought we could still salvage it, but then the rings/posts that hold the pieces together snapped apart. I had done several others in single and dual color with no issues, so we tried to adjust print temperature, plate temp, and slowed it down. Second one snapped with a gentle tug. We won't be buying this again.
