The media could not be loaded. I love that it's small enough to fit on a counter-top with room to spare. It makes ice quickly. Easy to clean, super easy to use. The sound level is medium... a 3 on a scale of 1-5 (5 being the loudest). Doesn't bother me at all, it just blends with any background noise, really. The only disappointing thing I can think of is that it makes small and very small ice "cubes"... would like slightly larger... but then it would take longer to freeze. The smaller cubes melt quickly. Maybe it could freeze them a little harder? They stick together when putting them in an ice bucket in the freezer, so you'll need an ice pick to gently break them apart. It was great from the start. Our Samsung fridge ice maker always freezes so I bought this instead of going to the store every other day because I like my ice in my cocktails full. It was great up until 3 weeks ago and then it didn't work properly. I tried to take it apart but you need an Aerospace engineering degree. I'm sure it's a clogged hose or something simple. After putting the screws back in it worked for 2 drop sessions then it was done. So to be fair, we used this machine all day and late into the night EVERY DAY for almost a year and it was amazing. Never let us down. So paying 100$ and it lasting almost a year VS 2$ a bag and going to the store every other day or asking friends to stop on their way was definitely worth every cent. I bought this ice maker for our office of 4 people. It's perfect for our environment. We have found that making one complete batch of ice (meaning one fill up of water) takes just a few hours, and will last our office for two days. We put the extra in a container in the freezer, use it for a couple days, and then make more. After a batch is completed, we drain the unit and shut it off until we need it again. Yes, the ice is a bit wet when it falls into the basket, and yes, it does stick together a bit when you put the extra in the freezer. It's not that bad, however. We just take a spoon and lightly break it apart. It doesn't take a lot of effort. It would be nice if the ice stayed colder while in the basket, but I'm sure the unit wouldn't be at this price point if it did that. We have the unit in our office kitchen, and the noise level is minimal. We can hear that it's on, but it's actually softer than the microwave when someone has that running. I had the choice of adding an ice maker to our current refrigerator freezer, or purchasing a countertop model. I'm so glad I went with this option.     • Good all-round unit, a bit noisy but works fine
The speed is about 2 cups per hour, or about 2-3 hours to fill the basket. Overall the fan is a bit noisy, so you might want to place it in out of the way, or on the back porch, but you will need to be refilling it constantly if you hope to yield 33 lbs per day. The black rubber feet leave marks on a white countertop, so you may want to place a placemat or something under the feet. They are black rubber and will mark your countertop, which can be scrubbed off, but it's just something to note. Try to use filtered water, i noticed the reservoir and inside smelled like chlorine, so that's probably because I used tap water, so for best results filter your water. The reason we bought this was mainly for camping, I plan to run this off an inverter (which could kill a car battery FYI) or small 1000W genset to provide us ice for our drinks and coolers, so your power source needs to be constant - it's not practical to run your car for hours just to make ice. When we go to our local music festival in the Summer (Merritt) they charge $8/bag for ice which is outrageous, and we expect this unit will pay for itself after just 2 x 3-day camping trips, at least we have some options now. Despite finding a power source and the effort filling with water over and over, and emptying the ice into bags for cooling food, it will be handy at our parties too, and reduces people messing around in the fridge. For the extra $30, i thought it was practical to buy this 33 lb unit per day is 20% more than the other units) over the more common 26 lbs/day units like Frigidaire, that's the other unit I'd look at. One more thing, i bought 30 x draw-string ice bags. If you are making ice for your cooler, remember you will need ice bags!! $10 for 30 count on Amazon, or use x-large zip-locks and reuse those which is probably the best overall option. I'd rate this 5/5 if it made bigger cubes and was a bit quieter, but it's pretty good for the price. If you are entertaining outdoors, maybe avoid the black units as they will absorb a lot of heat from the sun, I went with silver. ... show more

Produces ice very quickly. It is very easy to clean and maintain. Especially convenient drain on the bottom to drain water. You can choose the size of the cubes as well. Large capacity Great for parties. It will not keep the cubes frozen, but it will recycle the water from melting cubes to continually make ice. Also if you have a good ice bucket you can keep it filled all of the time because it produces fresh cubes every 6 to 7 minutes. It is also an excellent value ... show more
