I'm really excited to add this to my arsenal of light modifiers when I'm shooting, but there are some turn-offs. The positive side is that it works nicely, and I'm getting the light modification and style I envision when using this lantern style softbox. The bowens mount makes it compatible with my strobe and constant lights, so I can also use it when shooting video. The negatives or things to be aware of. It's first a bit tedious to set up, as you're trying to bend the frame inside the lantern to get it to take shape. While doing so, it's hard to have the wireframe line up with the seams of the cloth of the lantern. I feel that the tension from the frames not lining up may tear the lantern if not correctly set up. Although it's possible to set up by yourself, I find it trickier when setting up alone and much easier to set up with an assistant. Overall, I love the lantern type softbox results, but it may not be my first choice in a lighting setup. It is small enough to where I can take it and keep it for just in case situations where I think the shot would benefit from that type of lighting. ... show more

To achieve a beauty light and smooth skin nothing beats a lantern softbox in my opinion. It helps you achieve soft flat lighting that flatters your subject. This lantern softbox is easy to set up and comes with a bowens mount. Recommended.
