Extra Large Mill (Silver) Aluminum Pet Patio Door fits 77.6 inch to 80.4 inch tall sliding glass aluminum door. It only takes a minute to install this useful patio pet panel with its draft stopping watertight seal and you can even take it with you when you move. There is no assembly required because it adjusts in height from 77-in. to 80-in. to ensure a perfect fit in any sliding glass door, either right or left opening. Your pet passes through a 10.5" x 15" size flap. Made of tough safety glass, it has a lockout slide and a security lock for added protection.

My husband and I live in an apartment on the second floor apartment. We recently got a puppy and let me tell you, having to go up and down stairs to take the puppy out every 15 minutes gets annoying really fast. Even with us taking her out so much, she always needs to use the restroom and still has accidents in the house. So, we ended up making her a little potty station outside with soil, grass, and a bin we poked holes in. We installed this so she can go out and use her balcony potty as much as she wants. This product is a lifesaver! She loves it and now when we leave for work we also don't have to worry about her cuz she just comes in and out from her balcony potty as much as she pleases! We just got this yesterday. Very sturdy! We do not plan to permanently install, so we cant speak to weatherproofing or security latch. We are setting it in place for weekend days and removing it for the night. We have a piece of wood moulding that we are sliding between the glass of stationary door and the door we have partly open to minimize bugs. I am a 60 yr old woman and can easily get it in place. Stays put without attaching. Havent quite got the dogs to push the flap, but they will go in an out when I hold it open. I am sure a squirrel will be on our deck today, and they will blast thru in pursuit! We have 2 40lb dogs, a terrier and portie. Both fit thru well. ... show more

This unit is taller to step over and go out so my Labrador is hitting her knees now and has hesitated to go in and out. It is not a no tools install.... and getting it secure is near impossible. It is in place the disappointment is big time. Dog needs access to the patio. She keeps count on the birds, alligators and strangers that come by... it is her job. Not happy with this does not fit tightly. and the no tools idea is from an empty headed installer. ... show more

I picked Ideal doggy door because of the spring loaded installation. No drilling, no tools (well Phillips screwdriver to remove the old door lock catch, 2 screws), quick and easy install and when removed no holes in my door frame. Added Stamped in lower right corner of glass "TEMPERED GLASS" I had not seen that in product description, good to know it is tempered glass. ... show more

I'm glad I bought the door because it's nice to not have to leave the door open while waiting for the chihuahuas to come back inside. My husband & I have 10 rescue chihuahuas and live in wintery cold Pittsburgh. The door was very easy for me to put together and set into sliding door track. Definitely purchase better roll sealer...the stuff that comes with the door is very small and I actually laughed when I saw it. The door actually created a space between my sliding doors that leaves cold air in now. My largest foster dog is 11 lbs and I got the large door. Definitely size up on it. If I would have gotten a smaller dog door it wouldn't have worked for Chihuahuas! The bottom of the dog door flap is about 8 inches from the floor so the dog has to jump up to it. They have to jump into the door. Keep this in mind for smaller pets. 4 of my 3-4 lb ones can't get up and out of the flap because of the magnet & height of bottom of door flap. The lock that comes with it is not secure. We purchased a locking bar. ... show more

The door does a great job for what it is. I wish the door flap was double to help with insulation. Also, a set of various weather stripping sizes would be helpful for the install. Besides that, the door went on fairly easy and I would purchase again.

Pros: Very easy to install on my apartment balcony! It’s pretty sturdy and lightweight to carry! Cons: Not sure if it’s my track or the door, but they don’t align very well. When I close the sliding door and it’s against the pet door, it slides back as if it’s not flushed to the door. I’m not sure where I am able to drill holes to keep it in place since the papered instructions and illustrations don’t match, or make much sense to a person who isn’t handy with tools. Plus the how-to videos are outdated/old and hard to follow when trying to make it permanently stay. ... show more
