  • Saved my computer
--- It saved my computer, a perfectly functioning computer with just one small nuisance: Noise. My computer was a high-quality custom-built, with a cooler and fan that wasn't too shabby to start with. The system was fairly quiet. But I wanted it to be even quieter. I wanted it to be almost silent under normal operations, and persistently so. This would require the CPU temperature to be consistently under 50°C. My old cooler and fan could almost do just that, but the fan still kicked in at a higher speed occasionally during normal daily operations, making a distraction that I didn't want to bear with. So I decided to replace the cooler with a better one. Bought this one based on both the reviews and the specs (the sheer size of it), but with some doubt due to its low price. The result was perfect. The CPU temperature now never rises above 40°C when the fan is at a minimal 750 RPM, essentially silent. Perfect. To put it simply, with this cooler, the fan is simply running at a constant speed of 750 RPM, and never needs to kick in at a higher speed. I haven't done any heavy load test, but I don't need to because I almost never do heavy load stuff on my computer. If I do need to do that one day, I won't mind some noise. What I'm mostly obsessed with is the noise during daily normal operations. And for that, this is simply whisper quiet and consistently so. However, the installation was hard. I had several moments of thinking about giving up. This is not to blame for this particular product. Installing the CPU cooler is typically the hardest thing when installing a computer. Replacing an existing cooler is at least 4x as difficult. Not only have you got extra work to do to uninstall the existing one, but more importantly, everything is just harder because you don't have a clean board to start with and there are installed parts in the way making every step qualitatively harder than installing a cooler when you are building a new computer. It is predictably hard, but it is manageable. I did it, and I feel worth it every time when I use the updated computer. A TIP: Follow instructions. The exact order of the steps and which parts are needed at each step do matter and can make a difference between 30 minutes of pain and several hours of pain. Because the product is made to be versatile, it comes with many parts that your particular PC may not need. Therefore, instead of guessing during the installation, you should familiarize yourself with the whole thing BEFORE you start to install it. Another point of data: this works for LGA 1150/1151, even though the instructions show only LGA 1200 and above. I was quite concerned when I read the instructions and thought I had bought the wrong product, but it worked without any compromise. ... show more

  • Great air cooler if you can find a sale, ok for normal price
Color: SE-225-XT BLACK
Installed on AM4 Ryzen 7 5700x using MX6 paste, however, I changed fans out with two Silent Wings 4 120mm PWM High Speed 2500 RPM Premium, because I did read about possible supplied fan noise at higher RPM. I am not playing the latest game titles and have not calibrated the system yet, but by default CPU temps are in the 28C up to 52C on game usage. Perhaps I can get better temps calibrating fan operation. Installation on AM4 board was easy and straight forward. My mother board is a full ATX ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming AMD AM4 Zen 3 and all memory slots filled, which lead me to adjust the intake fan side a little higher to accommodate the G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series DDR4 in the A1 slot. Do not think this hindered cooling capability as the adjustment was minor. Be cognizant of size, I did check demission's of the cooler but have full ATX mid towers, so no problem with height on my system. Overall I recommend this product, although you may find several coolers that work as well at the $45. However, if you can snag it at $36 or below, its a stellar choice. Noting that I never tried the supplied fans that this came with. If you try them and they work well for you, then great deal. My primary objective was to cool the CPU and stay quiet as much a possible. ... show more

  • Great Cooler
Color: SE-225-XT BLACK
Chose this cooler since I liked how it looked compared to other coolers and wasn't too big to fit in my case with my other components especially ram(teamgroup t-force delta) and was planning to pair it with a ryzen 5 7600x. It has performed really well my CPU never goes past 80c under full load, it can get a bit loud but for gaming is mostly super silent. With the push pull configuration it provides amazing airflow to cool my cpu. Would highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Excellent Cooler for the Price
Color: SE-224-XTS
I bought the ID Cooling SE 224 XTS based on the Canucks review of budget tower coolers pointing out the high-polish base plate and overall quality. Compared to my old Cooler Master cooler the ID’s base plate really is impressive. At the current price the package is pretty amazing: a decent fan, plenty of hardware for both AMD and Intel CPUs, and good quality throughout. Mine is working well keeping my AMD4 3600 at ~32C idle. Installation: again, compared with my old Cooler Master cooler (with its rinky-dink lever clamp), the ID Cooling tower is fairly easy to install and once screwed down it feels solid. I suspect the reviews arguing otherwise may be trying to use the cooler in smaller cases; anything smaller than midtower ATX and you might need to resign yourself to pulling the motherboard to install the cooler. I installed this unit without pulling anything out, not even the GPU. No need for a long screwdriver, though having one made the job easier. Be sure to plug in the SE 224’s fan before beginning the radiator installation or you might be very sorry later. With my MSI X470 board I had to tape the cooler assembly back plate in place until screwing in the first screw of the ID Cooling replacement mounts. The instructions that cover this are OK up until the glaring omission of fan-to-radiator installation. Wire-thin spring steel clips hold the fan to the radiator (see photos), and assembling these would be horrible in a small case with mobo left in place; one side was tricky even in my large case. I can see why some users complain about the clips, but they do work. ... show more

  • Took a chance and it fit! Cools great!
Color: SE-225-XT BLACK
Had a low-profile cooler from another brand, witch heated up too fast under stress testing my i514600KS (not overclocked) I love my case and do not want to get a new one, so I took a chance on this cooler, I measured my space at 5.9 inched max height, and this beauty just fit! Dual 120 mm fans vs one on my old cooler, also, this has heat-pipes going up BOTH sides, not just one. Perfect! Stress testing can hold max power for a LONG time. Gaming is less stressful than the stress test, so this is perfect for me, and at only $33 and came with thermal paste and a great, easy to assemble mounting system. ID Cooling is a WINNER! The look is pure quality too. Very happy. ... show more
