  • Corsair finally simplifying their ecosystem
Color: White Style: QL120 Triple Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
I've not been that keen on Corsair products over the years, mostly due to how much they restrict you to their ecosystem, and partly because of how complex some of it can get. In particularly, their fans in recent years have been not desirable to me as the entire process seemed entirely overbearing with how much you needed to do to get them up and running, particularly with RGB. While iCue hasn't been that bad for me, I've seen the horror stories across the internet with that software as well. That all said, these intrigued me. I was curious about the lighting and having purchased their light towers, had a reason to use iCue on my test bench. So I decided to give these a go right out of the gate, had reason to praise Corsair. Instead of requiring multiple pieces to get the RGB lighting to work, you only need the included Lighting Node Core, which allows up to 6 fans to be connected for the lighting. That then connects to your motherboard via an internal USB 2.0 header, and you're off and running. For the fan speed, you still need to connect them, but there's nothing proprietary there. I chose to use a three-way splitter and connect them to a 4-pin PWM header on my motherboard. Right off the bat, these fans look spectacular. The ability to not just change the outer ring, but the inner ring is great on its own, but you can go even further as they've divided the zones into front and back as well. This means you can really get crazy with the lighting effects and combos, which is something Corsair has done very well over the years. There are 34 total LED's per fan, which is just insane to think about. The fans themselves operate up to 1500RPM, which isn't the fastest by far, but will be good enough for most. They aren't terribly noisy for the most part, although they're noticeable at their highest speed, but then again, most fans are going to be noticeable when cranked all the way up. I had these on an AIO radiator and they performed just fine, keeping temps on an AMD 3600X pretty reasonable, even under a constant Cinebench load. In short, you won't notice any cooling changes switching to these, unless you always operate your fans at full blast and are coming from EK Vardar fans or something else that comes in at a higher speed. When these fans first launched, finding them for a decent price was impossible as they seemed to run anywhere from $130-150, which is very, very steep. Even at around $105-115, which is where they've been the last few months, they're still very expensive, especially when you consider some fans can be found for under $60 for a 3 pack. You're paying for the Corsair name, so how much that's worth to you will determine if these are a good value for you. Personally, I think if they're around $100 and you already have a healthy Corsair ecosystem, they can be worth it. I personally prefer Lian Li's Uni Fans, especially with how much cabling they remove from the equation and how light the software is to control them. All that said, they're beautiful fans that perform pretty well. If you don't mind the cost and are invested in Corsair's ecosystem, you'll be happy with these. Simply put, I've not seen fans that can compare in terms of how much you can do with the lighting, so how much that matters will determine if these are worth it to you. ... show more

  • Very Quiet
Color: Black Style: QL120 Triple Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
Purchased 6 of these fans, 2 boxes, 1 of which was an "open box" that was barely resealed. I did not expect this from the Corsair Store. However everything was accounted for except a few mounting screws which i had spares. Overall the quality is superior, the fans are very quiet, even when they are at max speed. They are very esthetically pleasing. I have these paired with the Corsair Commander Core, works great. A bit on the pricey side, but I find it worth it. ... show more

  • Great but not perfect!
Color: Black Style: QL120 Triple Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
The media could not be loaded. Obviously if you've dealt with corsair fans you know how complicated the setup can be when you've got 20 wires running through your case. The fans are beautiful and they can run pretty quiet if you set them up properly. At max speed, they are pretty audible, but that is probably the case with most fans at max speed. Other than a few hiccups with 1 of the fans, I was able to them all setup in a few hours. My commander core gave me issues but amazon was able to ship me a replacement and I got my entire pc up in running after a 5 day building period. First ever custom build and I couldn't be happier. I wouldn't recommend these fans if you're looking for the easiest and neatest cable management, but they fan are a sight to behold. Little on the pricey side but I am expecting these to last for a while. I went with white so that I don't have to worry color problems with the individual led's. Time will tell. ... show more

  • Excellent quality product, at a premium
Color: White Style: QL140 Dual Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
Corsair is well known for their expensive products. Fortunately they're usually also known for their quality, and these 140mm RGB fans are no exception to either rule. The RGB is very vibrant and plays nicely with Corsair's iCUE software. The fans are extremely quiet even at high RPM and cool my Y40 case and components very well! ... show more

  • 3 spinning lights of perfection
Color: Black Style: QL120 Triple Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
These fans were purchased to fix my kids pc. One of their fans had quit working and who else do you turn to in this event other than corsair? The ICUE software is great for these fans since you can play with the lighting all you want. They are quiet even under full load, the color is great, and the pc has never run cooler! Zero complaints, and will definitely buy again on my next build. ... show more

  • Pretty Lights
Color: White Style: QL120 Triple Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
Let's be honest - you aren't getting these because they're the best fans for cooling. They have more RGB than any other corsair fan, at a premium of course. This is something consumers should be aware of - these are NOT the best when it comes to cooling. Serviceable, even decent? Sure. But if all you want is efficient and effective case cooling solutions, you can find options for even half the price. These have pretty lights, and I personally have had zero issue with Corsair iCue software (though others have, so buyer beware). My experience with these are positive- my GPU averages around 80C under load (I have an old, stinky 1070ti with an awful blower fan, it's usually run hotter than 80C actually), and my CPU averages around 65C under load (R7 5800x with a Corsair iCue 150i running exhaust on the top). I'd call that an overall success when you mix in the pretty lights that I can stare at instead of actually playing games. Bonus points: my cat loves following the lights with his head and tries attacking them regularly. They double as a cat toy. ... show more

  • The LED effects are awesome.
Color: Black Style: QL140 Single Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
First of all, these fans are just too expensive for what you get. Corsair's proprietary Icue app stranglehold allows them to upcharge way too much. But the lighting effects are beautiful. The Icue app offers lots of flexibility in color and pattern options. It offers some preprogrammed colors and patterns for super easy use. I use and love the rainbow effect. Fans are fairly quiet move quite a bit of air. I use the Corsair Icue Commander Core XT controller with these series of fans. Major bummer that this controller will not work with my Corsair SP140 fans. I'm assuming that is just a sneaky way for Corsair to get us to buy new fans. ... show more
