We've always had to buy two strings of icicle lights, as one typically isn't long enough. This unit's longer length solved that problem. During installation, the individual icicle strands get tangled a bit easier than the old incandescent versions, but once they're up, they look great. There's no separate controller for the patterns, it's a little switch on the string itself. We're old-school and just run the lights full-on at night (no patterns), so these are perfect for our use. I couldn’t be more pleased with these icicle lights! The 320-foot strand was more than enough to cover both the front and side of my house, and the coverage looks amazing. The lights are incredibly bright, giving my home a festive, glowing look from every angle. I also love the built-in timer feature, which makes things super convenient—I don’t have to worry about turning them on and off every day. I ordered three boxes that had two strands in each box. In one box half the lights didn’t work so I did an exchange and received a new box with only half the lights working again so I just did a refund on the third box. Christmas time comes and we go to hang the lights only to find a tangled mess of zip ties everywhere on two of the 4 strands. We tried cutting the zip ties off in the places they weren’t supposed to be but the strand still wasn’t like the other two good ones and when the two strands were connected together that came out of the same box one strand was soft white and the other looked yellow which was weird and disappointing. It was just garbage and not worth the money or hassle. I do not recommend at all. ... show more

Easy to hang, felt well-made but not a long-term decorating option. They functioned exactly as expected, just wish they had lasted longer. We hung them for the holidays and they were not working 2 months later.
