I searched for months looking for the right compressor freezer. I Initially came upon the Dometics through countless YouTube endorsements. When I realized the price, I was very sad because I did not want to spend a thousand dollars. I started looking for cheaper options, and I found many of them, some had amazing feature sets. As I researched more, I thought I found what I wanted, but there were so many reviews related to Poor durability and longevity. I started thinking I would either need to take a huge gamble and buy a low priced unit or get a Dometic. Neither option left me feeling happy. One day, I came across a YouTube review of an ICECO freezer. The review faved about the great Dan Foss compressor, the same one used in units costing over twice as much. As an engineer, I love technical quality over bells and whistles. I just want it to work well. More research continued to show how pleased people were with the freezers - they are quiet, they are energy efficient, and they are made with the highest quality parts. My choice was made. One day, they came on sale and without hesitation, I bought one. Unit came well packaged, included a case for greater protection and additional insulation, the proper cords for home and car use, and a car cable extension cord in case you have a lighter socket in the front but the unit is in the back. I have taken my unit to Bryce Canyon, Zion, and the Grand Canyon. It has worked great. I love that I no longer need to buy ice, in facT, I used it to make ice.     • Can't return a Non-Working item SUCKS!

It doesn't refridgerate. I tried to return it, and it only says this item can't be returned. $450 down the drain. The size is just what it states, the looks are just as good, but something that does not refrigerate is worthless. My father is an appliance repair tech. so he says I must let it sit for at least 6 hours just in case it was on its side during transport. Gonna try to contact the original company to see what they will do. Amazon will not even contact me back, no chat, no emails and no phone calls. Covid-19 hasn't stopped the mail service yet, but it looks like customer service is going down hill now. *********************************** UPDATED TO BAD REVIEW....... *********************************** The company ICECO did call me back, I was shocked. Since Amazon did not let me return the item, I was so relieved that the company ICECO stood behind their product. I picked this one because of all the great reviews and of course the price was much better than the other brands out there. I also own a Dobinsons FF80-3940 40LTR Fridge/Freezer or ( Dobinsons 4x4 40L 12V Portable Fridge Freezer ) which is $750 comparable to the Dometic. It has always worked perfect for me for the last couple of years. My Dobinsons looks EXACTLY like the ICECO except for a couple of changes on the door. They both have Danfoss compressors which are very quiet and have great longevity in life. The company had called, let me know they would get a new one for me and send it out ASAP. I just received the new one a few days ago, and everything so far is working perfectly. I'd like to Thank ICECO for standing behind their product and honoring my purchase. I build Buses and Van conversions and currently through all my extensive research this one is a keeper. The company backing it up is so very valuable to me. Saves on costs, very quiet, Danfoss compressor, low energy consumption, accurate measurements, came with a custom bag and it even looks good. So yes, I would and do plan on purchasing more of these ICECO JP50 12v Portable Refrigerator Fridge Freezers and will recommend this product to others. ... show more

Works great I use it for driving cross country. Uses almost no energy and keeps things as cold as I want then no matter what temperature. I am rough on things by nature and this holds up, very durable.

We use this for our long road trips. Fits perfectly in between the 2nd row captains chairs. Draws very little current and extremely quiet. For shorter trips we use a UPS that can run the cooler for about 8 hours a charge. Quality piece of gear for the road or camping. Keeps meats and cold snacks cold! ... show more
