When i first stepped into my shoe these felt kinda weird while standing, there is a little dome the supports the palm of your foot. However while riding the dome is not noticeable at all. These provide a good deal of support while riding and feel great. Also MUCH cheaper than custom foot bed i got with a bike fit. i would buy these gain before bothering with the custom insoles again.

I added these to a pair of Giro Empire XC90 mtb cycling shoes. Size 45.5 I've been dealing with Metatarsal nerve impingement while riding. It goes something like: at mile 10 the first hints of "heat" start to be apparent at the balls of my feet, especially the outside of the forefoot. then by mile 20, numbness of my 3rd, 4th and 5th toes starts to set in. By mile 30, mild pain in the outside of my feet near the ball of the feet, by mile 40 the pain becomes somewhat annoying, by mile 50... I have to consciously think about something else, and try my best to ignore it. By mile 60... it becomes unignorable and starts to degrade my pace. By mile 70, the pain is debilitating and I have to either stop, take my shoes off and let them rest for about an hour, or finish the ride. These seem to have fixed that for me. So far I've done a 12mile (maximum effort sprint pace) a 17mile (again max effort with some steep hill climbs) and a 30 mile (max effort with more climbing) rides. On the 12 mile ride - no hint of the heat (and by extrapolation, the other symptoms that would follow it) On the 17 mile ride - no symptoms, no hints of impending numbness. On the 30 mile ride - no symptoms. No heat, no numbness, no impending pain. All three rides left my feet feeling as if I had just been walking around in a good pair of supportive hiking boots for a few hours. Ie: normal. Usually my first priority after a ride is to doff my SPD shoes... like ASAP. Not now, on return it's no longer a "OMG get my feet the @#$% outa these @#$%ing shoes" kinda deal for me. I'm very confident that these insoles may have licked my problem. Time, and a couple of 60 mile + rides will tell for sure, but right now. They are worth a shot if you have similar problems as I have on the bike with your feet. That metatarsal button is the real deal. It might feel funny at first, kinda alien, not uncomfortable... just really weird. Ignore it. Think about something else. Your body will adapt to them. And you'll be happy it does. I'm 100% convinced It's the key to pain free riding if you get nerve impingement at the metatarsal heads. EDIT: update, completed a 70 mile ride today, 17mph average speed, 3100 feet of climbing. Really putting the spurs to it for me. Finished ride with ABSOLUTELY ZERO PAIN, NUMBNESS, OR DISCOMFORT in my feet. Legs were kinda tired, back a little sore, hands a little numb... the twig n' berries a little numb.... feet? Absolutely symptom free. Ice bug is the real deal, as far as I'm concerned. If I could, I'd give this product 6 stars. I had to trim mine, since my Giros are narrow at the forefoot, and I bought the size 12 insole, and trimmed to 11.5 (which is about what a 45.5 comes out to) I accomplished this by lining up the heel cups and tracing the OEM insoles (which are actually pretty decent... with removable and adjustable arch supports... just no metatarsal button) with a sharpie onto the ice bugs. I then carefully trimmed them to match the tracing with a fresh exacto knife, and inserted them into the shoe footbed. Easy peasy. Again, these may not be for everybody - but if you experience the symptoms of metatarsal nerve impingement when riding... they may be your best purchase all year.

I use these in cycling sandals and other water-tolerant bike shoes with flat pedals while navigating my prop drive/pedaled catamaran on long 30-40 mile day trips on the ocean. My feet have become intolerant of narrow shoes, and I have developed some forefoot neuropathy after decades of cycling. These tolerate frequent drenching without the adhesives separating, are thin enough to take minimal space inside a shoe, have the metatarsal bump, and a decent heel cup for stability. They work. Not as padded as thicker insoles, but I need maximum toe box space inside my shoes. I'd run the thicker version if I could, but most cycling purpose shoes that can tolerate immersion run a bit narrow, so I need something thin.

I purchased these inserts to replace the stock inserts in my Five Ten Freerider shoes because my toes were going numb when I would cycle. I read an article from a physiotherapist that highly recommended these so I purchased them. I put these in right before an overnight bike trip and rode 55 miles each day. I did not have any foot pain or numbness on the first day and only very minimal numbness the second day so I’d say these did exactly what they were intended to do! I wasn’t sure after doing the wet foot on paper test if my arch was high or medium so I went with medium. I probably could have gone for the high arch and may consider buying a pair to test out and put in other shoes. I did try these in my On running shoes to see how they felt walking around and the metatarsal bump does take getting use to. I also tried to fit these into my Veja sneakers last weekend and they did not fit at all (too big). I wear a women’s 8 (38) and the M 6/W 7.5-8 worked in most of my athletic shoes.

These work relatively well for bike shoes, better than the insoles that come with the bike shoes. They don't give you much of any cushioning in bike shoes as they would with a pair of tennis shoes, about as hard as the insoles that came with the bike shoes(bike shoes have a hard base, so the only cushioning you get is in the insole.), if you have "hot spot" issues with the piar of bike shoes, it maybe better to get a pair of the fat version insoles, if you have enough space in the shoe for them, these slim insoles won't get rid of that. The arch in these are a little bit more flexible than I had expected, compared to other arched insoles. For insole fit in a bike shoe, bike shoes tend to run 1-3 sizes smaller over tennis shoes, so you may have to trim them to fit. My pair of shoes are a size 13, I got a size 12 insole, and the fit in the shoe is about as tight as you can get it without the insole bunching up in the shoe. For regular shoes I wear a size 11.5 to 12 for most pairs of shoes(in extra wide, 4e width.). My bike shoes probably run at around a standard wide width(2e) for the brand of shoe, which is a "tad" narrow.

I've been cycling for over forty years and these are definitely the best insoles I have ever had in a pair of cycling shoes. When it comes to cycling, I have problematic feet. They're wide, so I either have to find wide shoes (rare), or wear a half size to a full size up to get enough width to prevent my toes from being squeezed. I also have high arches and a weak ankle (the result of an injury many years ago). Without a massive amount of arch support, my weak ankle allows my foot to roll inward effecting both my foot's position on the pedal and my pedaling motion. In recent years I've taken to putting plastic arch supports beneath the stock insoles in my shoes. This has helped, but not solved, my problems and keeping the supports in place is a pain. I did some research and found a suggestion regarding metatarsal support for cycling insoles. If you don't know what this looks like, it takes the form of a "bump" in the insole directly behind the ball of the foot. I did some more research and found excellent reviews and pictures of the Icebug insoles. I decided to give them a try. They're pricey but, out of the box, you can tell they are well designed and well made. I bought a size 12 US to fit a size 47 Shimano road cycling shoe and they fit with minimal trimming on both sides of the toes. The length was perfect. The arch and metatarsal bump are both very pronounced. They look like they'd be uncomfortable, but they conform to my feet perfectly. And they seem to work. I only have two thirty mile rides with them so far, but my foot comfort is much improved and I don't have to fool with separate arch supports. If things continue to go well, I'm going to buy a second pair for my mountain bike shoes.

I purchased the Icebug slim low insole, medium arch, size 11 (U.S.) insoles for my Sidi Genius size 44 1/2 cycling shoes. Size 11 is larger than my Sidi insoles so I used the Sidi insoles as a pattern to trim down the Icebug insoles in the front foot area (not touching any of the arch support area). The front area of the Icebug slim insole is about the same thickness as my original Sidi insole so my shoes still fit me perfectly as they did before but now I have good arch support. It was cool out the first day I wore them. I was wearing a pair of thin socks under heavier wool socks. I couldn't feel the bump at all that some people have discussed. It was a nice warm day the next time I rode my bike. I wore my standard low-cut socks. I barely felt the bump when I put on my cycling shoes and didn't notice the bump at all on my ride. As for the arch support, I took the 'wet foot' test to determine that I needed a medium arch support and medium fits me just right. I'm very happy with my purchase.

True story: in Florida for a few months to escape the snowy north, I go on daily long bike rides on my mountain bike. Normally, my feet would be hurting after my ride. Yesterday, before my ride I received these, put them into my cycling shoes, went for my ride, and got lost. I ended up going 2 1/2 times further than normal. I know for certain I'd be in agony today had I not had these things. I went to the Icebug site to read up on the science of this product, not sure why it works as well as it does, but they do work. They're pricey, but I'm going to buy a set for my running sneakers. I went with the medium, going to re-do the fit test and see if the higher pad would be even better. It is true you notice the support bump at first, but soon you'll never know it's there.

After trying 2 different cycling shoes, my feet were still going numb after about 20min on the bike and I could tell it was doing some damage because the numbness started to linger even off the bike for a couple of days. The metatarsal button on these is pretty significant but its exactly what I needed to alleviate that pressure. I have had my feet measured at a specialist shop and have VERY high arches so I got the high arch version. Also note that these are in MENS sizes so I wear a 9 women's shoe and got a size 7 insole. Couldn't find a clear answer to that when I was buying so wanted to throw that out there

The metatarsal bump is incredible. I put these in my Shimano SH-MT700 (size 46) cycling shoes, and my feet were totally pain free after a 2 day 200 mile ride. Prior to these insoles, my feet would start to hurt at around 20-30 miles, and after, they are totally fine! I liked them so much, I bought another pair to put in my hiking boots.

I read a review if insoles for cycling and this thin insole was the best fit for me. Specialized brand we’re also recommended in the article. I’ve purchased both, neither is inexpensive. The Icebug has better arch support (my arch is HIGH) and raised spots to unload forefoot stress. Came quickly, good documentation, easy to fit or trim, and they work very well. Highly recommend.

These were bought to try in my cycling shoes. My feet were starting to roll inward after 35-40 miles of riding. The slim, high arch model has worked great for correcting this issue. My feet could use to have the arch bump travel a little further to the outside of the foot, but at 1/4 of the price of the adjustables, that's pretty much perfect!

My right knee had been bothering me for months. The pain was sharp and only at a certain angle. It always felt like my knee area was really tired and over worked. I stopped cycling for a few weeks and thought the pain came from driving a truck all day. I only got these insoles because I wanted to fill my cycling shoes more as there was a bit of play on my foot inside the shoe. With thin cycling socks my foot was moving around and thought and insole would solve the problem and save me some money from buying a new shoe. After reading the reviews on the ice bug and seeing people recommend it for cycling I bought it and after the first ride (30 miles) I felt my knee was instantly better. It’s been 3 long rides with these insoles and they have aligned my knee back to normal. I had no idea they would fix my months of knee pain. So glad I gave them a try.

Finally an insert that I really really like! I have high arches, metatarsal pain, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, etc.. horrible feet. I needed something that was going to cradle the 3 arches whilst flexing to allow my arch to stretch naturally. They are pricey, they squeak somewhat, but man they feel really good in my Brooks glycerin shoes! Go to their website for sizing info, I have a size 9 women's shoes (Brooks Glycerin) and ordered a size 8 Icebugs. They go all the way to all edges, if a milimeter larger they wouldn't have fit in my shoes... Be aware there is a metatarsal support ('golf ball' under the ball of your foot) which may feel very prominent the first couple times you use this, but I think you get used to it in short order and it really helps cradle your metatarsal arch/pad. They are not joking when it comes to a high arch support.
