He needed a new crate because the gold one kept caving in. I compared the sizes & this care is bigger, wider and lightweight. Peep his grin in the first picture! The last one is blurry because he was excited to go play but I had to bribe him to stay. I thought I'd need something bigger, read through the reviews and saw that someone used these for their dachshunds. Mines a Dachshund Poodle Mix and he fits perfectly in there even when sitting or standing. ... show more

    • Flimsy plastic tray !
Before I had ordered this crate I read the reviews to see the good and bad experiences that other people have had with it, and as anyone would be, I wasn't expecting a lot after hearing about this crate, but I ordered it anyway and I'm very pleased with my purchase. The color is very vibrant and there is no paint chipping in it at all like another review had stated. I really like the size of the crate, but it was a little taller than I expected it to be, but that's not a bad thing at all. I got the smallest size for my new puppy, and I have a full grown shih tzu that fits comfortably in it and has plenty of room to lay down and stand up and move around a little in it. I only really have one complaint about this crate, and that is the plastic tray that sits on the bottom. I ordered a memory foam mattress from Amazon for my puppy that has a waterproof covering on it as to not soil the bed itself, and came in the exact dimensions of this crate and my dogs love it! I never really had any intent on using the tray anyway, but I personally think that it's good to know every aspect of what you're buying in order to get the best for your dog and prepare for it if you have to. I wouldn't use the tray on its own with the crate and if you didn't have a sturdy bed that wouldn't lift up off the bottom of the crate, then I would find a way to fasten the tray to the crate because it only sits on top of the bottom and I wouldn't want my dog to get their paws stuck in the bottom of the crate or hurt themselves somehow. The memory foam bed that I bought is tall enough to where it aligns with the bottom of the door perfectly and fits snugly and does not lift up off of the bottom of the crate and I HIGHLY recommend it with this crate. To help some of you out with prices as far glad these crates go and finding a good deal on them, found this exact brand of crate in the size and color that I purchased from here at a pet store near me and it was $70, so I feel like this is a really great bargain if you're looking for a decent crate for your dog. This crate is super easy to assemble, great color, great size, easy to clean, and has a very sturdy build if put together correctly. The latch can be a little difficult to move in and out, but I guess that's a good thing if you have smart dogs that can figure how to unlock their crates lol.
