If you like ice, but hate making ice but this or something similar. This one is a little taller than I thought and while not loud it's noise is distinctive and takes getting used to. Definitely would buy it again - but wait for a sale. Made a great Xmas gift to myself. Go ahead, you deserve it.

I love that it does make ice cubes in 15 minutes it’s very quiet and it has auto shut off When the basket is full you do need to put the ice in the freezer right away when the basket gets full they will melt but it’s an efficient machine I’m happy with it and it’s very quiet it makes bullet shaped ice cubes I got it mainly because I’m going to use it mostly in the summertime but I filled up my ice tray in my freezer and got rid of my regular ice cube trays yes I think it’s a keeper and the price was right try it out you can’t go wrong if you want a bigger machine and make more eyes that’s what you need this one is perfect for making ice quickly in smaller batches ... show more

    • Weird taste at first
The product’s description stresses that it’s very quiet…we’ve found that’s a little bit of an overstatement. It’s not loud, but you can hear it in the next room. But the biggest surprise was the taste. I followed the directions before using, washing with a mild soap and rinsing well. I tossed the first couple of batches in case there was any soap residue remaining. The first time I used ice in a drink I had to dump the entire thing because the chemical taste was so overpowering. I had to run and dump the machine for four days to work through the chemical aftertaste. I’ve had it for about a month and now I don’t notice anything “off”, but my husband (who has a keener sense of taste and smell than I do) still says it tastes funny when he’s drinking ice water. The only other thing I’d mention is that the ice tends to freeze into big chunks. I know the chamber isn’t cold enough to keep the ice from melting, but if I want to stock up and store ice in the ice bin in my freezer I’d have to move it every 6 minutes to avoid having a massive blob of ice bullets. I don’t know if that makes sense, and maybe all countertop ice machines have this same issue, but I wonder if a double walled lid would help insulate the chamber to keep the ice from melting so quickly? ... show more

I purchased this as a college student because our apartment does not have an ice maker, and this girl needs her ice. I will say the ice melts faster than I expected, but it is very useful! Very easy to use, only has a little bit of noise that sounds like a fan. Overall, a great purchase.
