My husband and I have purchased several icemakers over the years, and all have broken within 6 months. My husband works outdoors and takes a cooler with his lunch and drinks every day. Our refrigerator ice maker has been broken for years and even when it did work didn't produce enough to keep up with our needs. After reading all I could about ice makers currently on the market we decided to purchase this one. We are extremely happy with our purchase. I am not going to lie it is a process for me to keep up with the amount of ice we need daily. I dump the bucket once an hour and fill the reservoir. This is not a hard process just a new addition to my daily routine and it saves my husband over $100 in the ice that he used to buy for his work cooler. This unit itself does not take up too much space but I would measure your space to make sure it fits under any cabinets; the water reservoir is on the top towards the back, and it would make filling the reservoir a pain if you didn't have enough space. The unit is not overly noisy but does have a constant noise while it is making ice, when the ice drops it makes a pretty good thud, but it isn't anything to complain about. We use a Brita water pitcher to keep our reservoir full as the manual says to use quality water. I refuse to purchase bottled water to make ice for a number of reasons, but the ice comes out nicely with this method. My one complaint is the instruction manual; it is hard to understand and doesn't give very clear or concise directions when it comes to self-cleaning function. But besides that, we are extremely happy and hope that it continues to make ice a long time. ... show more

We go through alot of ice in our family especially in the mornings because of ice coffee. Our refrigerator ice maker couldn't keep up. This little machine fits easily on the counter, makes ice quickly, and shuts off when it runs out of water or the ice bin gets full. The one thing to know is that this is not a freezer - you must transfer the ice to the freeze when made. You can make 4-5 batches before it needs to be moved to the freezer. It's easy to fill with water, makes ice quickly (about 6 minutes for 10 pieces of ice) and we can fill up our ice bucket quickly. We run it in the evening while we're watching television and the we have plenty of ice in the morning. If we run out of ice at some point and just need some quickly, this will do the trick. It's definitely not meant for filling a cooler or anything like that, but it sure does come in handy if you're expecting company. ... show more

Love this little ice maker and the nugget ice! Unpacked it, washed the insides out, drained and sat it on the counter and allowed it to "rest" for two hours (per instructions) so that the coolant could settle back down after shipping. Then, added water and ran the cleaning cycle. After 15 minutes, rinsed out and drained it. Then added distilled water and within six minutes the first ice nuggets were shooting out of the machine! Its really nice and we have an appreciation for iced water again, especially in this heat! This makes the hospital or fast food little nugget ice and we love it! I filled up a few bags and placed them in the freezer. If you don't use all the ice right away, it melts back down and makes more ice. Its not a freezer, just an ice maker. So if you want to keep or rather stockpile the ice its making, you must get it in the freezer. I would suggest doing that if you plan on having ice for more than two people or for future use. Would definitely purchase again. Not very big, takes up same amount of space as a bread maker or a air fryer. You will have to keep up with filling it with water/emptying ice in order to keep making ice but to us, it's not a big deal. ... show more

Received this icemaker recently and unpacked it and set it up which was easy to do. Directions were clear basically. Icemaker works very well. My only concern is the little plug that you have to open at the bottom of the icemaker to drain the water out when you are finished with it. Hard for me to get my fingers around the plug to unplug it and plug it back in. Love the plastic bag that came with it to store the ice in the freezer Some people may not like the bullet sized ice but I do. Would be nice to be able to change the size of ice pellets made but this model was what was highly recommended. Use it all the time now! So glad to be done with the frustrations of my freezer's icemaker which froze up quite often. ... show more

So far the I've machine is doing its job. The warning in the directions say not to start making ice immediately because the refrigerant has to settle in the normal position for 24hrs. We waited another day just incase because this was delivered upside down. I really would have liked to see a better ice chamber. Being able to see the ice is nice but because this creates a ton of heat when it continues to make ice it constantly melts fast during a AC cooled summer day The machine sides put out a fair amount of heat so make sure that you don't pack it tightly next to other machines on your counter (especially things like a toaster over. All-in-all it's as expected. The smaller ice (only two sizes) really isn't worth it. Unless you quickly use it for putting in a bottle. We found that recycling our small Arizona tea plastic bottles is just the perfect size for sneaking in ice for a 32oz drink. So you can carry it ... show more
