This Egg Incubator did what we needed it to do! We incubated 20 eggs, and received 10 baby chicks, so a 50% rate I dont think is too bad. We had chicks born on both the top and bottom sections of the incubator, so I can attest it did as it said it would. The incubator was very easy to setup. I just followed the instruction, and I used the predefined settings for chicken eggs. As far as the durability of the incubator, it worked throughout the entire 21-day incubation without a problem. I will say that the internal parts that rotate the eggs feels a little flimsy, so you have to be careful when you are cleaning it, or if you are going to disassemble it. But the cleaning is very simple because the entire incubator is able to be disassembled and washed very easily. The temperature and humidity were held within close tolerance of the specifications according to the user manual. It does take a little manual manipulation of the top vent to make sure that you maintain your expected humidity. You must also consider the temperature and humidity of your home when you are doing this to make sure you are properly monitoring it. We did this in the springtime, and therefore, our house did change a few times from heating to cooling and back. But it seemed to work okay as long as I monitored the humidity daily and make necessary adjustments. I will say however, I never had to add any additional water, after setting it up. But again, my indoor humidity may have contributed to that. The incubator is a good bang for your buck, and is the perfect size for a backyard flock.

After one of my hens abandoned her eggs she had been sitting on for two weeks, I panicked and tried to find an incubator in a local farm store. Unfortunately, they were way too expensive. I found this one which was incredibly affordable and I was able to have it shipped same day. I didn't have high hopes, as the hen had been off her eggs over 8 hours when I placed them in the incubator (I kept them in a warm spot though). However, it was easy to set up and start. And though I miscalculated the days, I was able to figure out how to get it to stop rotating once I saw the shells were pipped. It holds up to 12 eggs and 12 is what I placed, but it is a tiny space for the chicks when they start hatching. Thankfully mine hatched staggered in such a way that I could take a few out at a time (once dry and fluffed). That is tricky. I recommend having someone else help and hold the top so it is only open on one end so as not to lose too much heat and humidity, (or wobbly chicks!), as this can affect the still hatching chicks. If you set your days accurately, it will stop rotating automatically when it's time for them to hatch. However, I had to take the whole tray, with the eggs, out and place them carefully back in one at a time. I also accidentally rotated them twice by hitting the wrong button! All that, and still all 12 of my eggs hatched and the chicks are well and healthy. I recommend this incubator if you are not new to raising chicks. Otherwise, it might be tricky to use. For me, it was perfect and helped me save the babies my rather confused hen abandoned.

I'm satisfied with the way the incubator worked this is my first time hatching eggs and I believe I had a successful hatch. The only issue I encountered was once 8 out of the 14 eggs had hatched I had a hard time keeping the humidity at a successful rate for the three other eggs that had started to zip which overall I ended up taking the 8 that had already had out a little bit early. Once I've done that the humidity drop back to where it was supposed to be they are still in the incubator but I think the the remaining ones will hatch, but overall I'm happy....

I’ve never hatched eggs before and we had four eggs. We had a power outage day 18 for seven hours so I thought the eggs were dead. We were still able to hatch two chicks successfully. Also I didn’t notice it until I bought it but there is a candling light on top! Very easy to use and we had success as newbies.

Could come with better instructions. Only has a few for quail and other birds. The hardest thing to figure out is the humidity. The valve on the front is confusing and it has to be on a level space or the water doesn’t come out. I had to use bottle B for the humidity first because of my house being so cold. Also the blue light on the top is too bright and the candling light won’t work unless you cover the blue one up. Really would be amazing to have an all about tutorial link for the main birds they advertise. I hatched out all 20 of my eggs though! Still happy with the purchase.
