This vacuum control designed to work with a wood dust producing tool is first class. It does plug directly into a 120V duplex outlet (no cord involved) and runs for 5 seconds (my test) after the tool is powered off. I use it on a 12" miter saw and it's perfect. Starts up along with the tool and clears the dust collection line for 5 additional seconds. Some of these type switches run for 10 seconds which is way too long (and so a bit irritating) but 5 seconds seems just about right. It has 2 outlets, one for the vacuum and an extra (for a task light, for instance). Now there's no need to turn the vacuum on at startup and off at shutdown -- this switch does it all for me. I can find no negatives to this simple but positive addition to my shop. I'll buy this model when/if I need another.

works great.. does exactly what its supposed to do and seems well made. and I really like the fact that the dust collector doesn't immediately shut down. having said that, I would really like 3 or even 4 power tool outlets instead of 1 as I have 3 tools that use the dust collector. although I only use 1 at a time, they all require the dust collector to be powered on. overall though, great (and necessary ) product at a very reasonable price.

This has been an amazing purchase for me. Table saw and dust collector bot work well independently but obviously required me to turn both on manually. Certainly not a difficult chore but I frequently found myself hooking up the dust collection tube to the saw only to later turn on the saw—forgetting to turn on the vacuum first. Or, when I did do it correctly, I more often than not just left the vacuum running while I set up for the next cut or fitted or ciphered, etc. Unnecessary noise and energy. This simple device has truly helped me be far more effective with the dust collection and run time on the system. Works every time without fail. Simple solution to a maybe silly situation for me, but hey, I’m old. Would definitely recommend it to others. I have no con’s to mention on the product.

This is a huge convenient factor when working with AC powered equipment that produces a lot of dust such as table saw, miter saw, routers, etc. The device starts the shop vac automatically when detecting power on the saw, and then turn off automatically when power is off. This takes away having to remember turning on and off the shop vac. Without this device, I often either forgot to turn on the vacuum until I am in the middle of the cut, which is then too late, or to turn off the vac after the cut is made, which is wasting energy and creating unnecessary noise level. This device is simple to use and is a must have in any workshop. Highly recommended for its size and convenience.

I love this outlet box. I can attach my chop saw, portable table saw, and router table (or other tools) and then connect my shop vac. The vac comes on when I start the power tool and turns off a couple seconds after I turn off the power tool. A switch on the box allows you to turn off the auto on/off feature if you want to run your shop vac without the power tools being on. A very clever and helpful addition to my garage shop.

This product saves me valuable time and effort when I am woodworking. I no longer have to crouch over or use a stick to hit the ON button on my vacuum when I’m using power tools. The three-position rocker switch is nice too - I don’t have to reconfigure the outlet to use the vacuum only when I need it. Just flip the switch and the vacuum is running on its own. The footprint of the box is great too. It is about the size as four outlets in the wall. Overall, great buy, no problems, and would buy again (I’m thinking about buying another one already for another vacuum).
