I purchased this mainly for improving my gaming experience on the PS5. The setup was incredibly straightforward—just connected it to my existing router, and it was ready to go. No complicated configurations needed. The device comes with a 3-month VIP Game Boosting Service, which has significantly improved my online gaming sessions. I've noticed reduced ping times and smoother gameplay. not a tech guy of how it works but it do improve ping and latency in COD. While I primarily use it with my PS5, I'm looking forward to trying it out on my PC soon. Updated: Tried this with my friends newly arrived NS2, working pretty well. With my old ISP router, the download speeds was so slow. This one lets me connect directly to the 5GHz band, and now I’m getting over 140Mbps with NAT Type A, with way better download speed and online matching experience. Pretty decent WiFi game booster. We use it on 2 - ps5 consoles, and are able to play online games with great connectivity. We mostly play Fortnite with it and I can definitely tell a difference in the game play. Great add on for your online game play.

Okie dokie here we go, this is everything you should know about this device unbiasly. It is an awesome device if you're having problems with connectivity and latency issues and low ping problems. That being said it comes with a subscription and rightfully so everything that it's providing is necessary for you to get the service that you're needing. I have tried the ones without a service and they are spotty at best and give you mixed results. That being said I wish that the service provided came with a human being behind the customer support area first and not just an FAQ or robot. Now it can be wall mounted or you may place it right behind your system or computer. Mine is discretely tucked behind my TV right behind my gaming systems and my computer tower. It's range is about 9 yards wirelessly with or without wall interference. You can get a lesser grade up to 24 yards of connectivity.( In case you're wondering why you would want this information, it would be for a business or hosting a gymnasium style LAN party.) You can connect a few devices using cable and still connect a few devices using the Wi-Fi. It's probably the biggest bang for your buck you're going to get all around. I'm getting four stars on this one due to the customer support area. Once you get through all the fog of it you can get the information you need but it just takes a bit. So I got very excited to finally replace the default router spectrum gives ya only to plummet into despair when this things Wi-Fi range is about half of the default router, yes it's a bit more reliable in terms of packet loss(with booster enabled) but it's only worthwhile if you wire in directly, the range is so sad, I was one room over and "1-barring" the 5ghz connection and 4 bars for the 2.4ghz connection, 1 room! Only about 13 to 15 feet away, not only that but it lacks ipv6, a basic commodity on the default router. All in all I'm severely disappointed as it was not what I needed but im certain it'll be great for other folks trying to connect their consoles directly, granted I think the standard 89.99 price tag is highway robbery for it's performance but the discounted price of 29.99 is fine fir what it provides. I purchased this Router to test how much latency it could reduce while playing various games. Initially, I used it when playing Battlefield and Warzone. I noticed a seamless playthrough. My ping was always quite low, and while it would spike at random moments before this router, this HYPEREV wifi booster prevents any of that awful red ping. I also tried it with games like Dead by Daylight and Genshin Impact. It's fantastic with DBD. If you know the game uses connection-based matchmaking, even when the host's lobby has a bad connection. It wouldn't affect me while my friends were being affected. In Genshin, the latency is much lower, allowing inputs to feel much more precise, and your ping stays in the green. Provides a long signal boost. And easy to get support when you run into any issues. A wonderful product. I highly recommend. ... show more

I play a lot of games on Eastern Asian servers. Especially China. GearUP's router allows me to do so with a significantly lower latency than I normally would. Around 140 to 150 from my testing. If I were to try and play it without the booster it would be closer to 200 or worse. That alone makes it worth the price you pay. What is also really important is stability, something that having used game accelerators before is usually questionable. GearUP has proven to me they are capable of stable connections for prolonged gaming sessions with very few if any issues. Plus they're willing to add more games if you request them. That's huge since China has a lot of games that never leave their playerbase which is a shame since they are a lot of fun. ... show more
