  • Great entry level mid drive ebike
This is a phenomenal e-bike if you can find it on sale!! I bought this for $699 and what a deal! I’ve owned many e-bikes and this is a blast. The components are cheaper which is fine, but the mid drive motor is really the best part of the bike. It will compare to a $5k higher end mid drive system!!

  • Do Not Buy This E-Bike (poor support and simple replacment parts no longer available)
This Hyper E-Ride Mid-Drive FS MTB arrived in a clearly mishandled box full of holes. Right away, it skipped in the highest gear. Adjusting the barrel adjuster and limit screws didn’t help. After a drivetrain upgrade two weeks post-purchase, it still skipped. It turns out the derailleur hanger was bent, likely from shipping. Hyper sent a wrong replacement hanger, confirmed by my bike shop. I sent photos as requested, but Hyper claimed it’s their only hanger and stopped replying after multiple follow-ups. Avoid this bike (or any bike from Hyper) as you'll wind up getting zero support and stuck with a bike that cannot be fixed with the simple parts that any bike manufacturer should always have on hand. ... show more

  • NICE !!!
Great bike for the price. I have owned this bike for 15 months and have only put 200 miles on it, all on rugged offroad trails. I have multiple, as in way too many, other bikes..lol..and I try to rotate riding all of them. I have made many modifications to this bike for fun and function but the 1 thing you have to do is lower the gearing if you wanna climb rough, steep hills. I put on a 32 tooth chainring and it would climb almost anything, a 30t would be even better. I rode like this for a long time and it performed well but since then I've made lots of improvements. I replaced the steel handlebars with carbon, much lighter. I replaced the shifters, pedals, crank arms, grips, forks, tires and wheels. I actually like the seat and the rear shock seems OK. The carbon bars and air fork shaved off 5 or 6 pounds. With the new wheels I put on an 11 to 42 tooth cassette so now she really climbs well and the new tires grip amazingly better, it corners like it's on rails. The original rear wheel has a 7 speed freewheel with a 34 tooth for the lowest gear. So yes, now this bike performs about the same as my $5000 bike and all the modifications only cost around $500....NICE ... show more

  • This bike is very underrated. Extremely nice bike, especially for what I paid!
I bought this for $700 but I would consider paying more for it if I had to replace it. It has been extremely helpful in getting me up and riding again and the assist makes hills far less daunting. This will not propel you like a motor bike. It is all assist but it has 5 levels above no assist and it feels like the closes thing to video game difficulty adjustments in real life. The bike is high quality. It has held up to quite a bit of riding and I am a big boy. That being said, I have not tried it much off-road. I've mostly done neighborhood riding. But it handles the many many hills in my neighborhood well. I try to only use the assist as much as needed to still get in a workout. Cons: Heavy. I had to replace the butt flosser bike seat before I could even ride it. My battery snaps in with slight mis-alignment but I've had no issues with charging or running Pros: Quality. Long battery life. Relatively quick charging (3-4 hours, I think), Powerful enough to help a big boy ride up some serious hills ... show more

  • This bike punches way over its weight class! Great fun and very useful.
I had been watching this bike on Amazon for awhile and was hesitant to make the purchase, but then it went on sale for $699 and I couldn't resist! This is a 250 watt torque sensor mid drive bike which means you must pedal to go anywhere and that's exactly what I was looking for. If you're looking for a moped style that has a throttle this isn't for you. The amount of assistance (5 levels) is adjustable and you can unlock its factory set speed limit from 20mph to 28mph with some simple instruction... Google it. It has plenty of power to up any in-town hills and I've taken it on desert mountain biking trails and it has performed flawlessly. Don't expect it to be on par with premium $5k-$10k bikes, but likewise don't underestimate it either. All bikes, and especially mountain bikes require care and maintenance such as keeping the chain well lubed, chassis points lubed, cleaning the gunk off the suspension and shock tubes when they get dirty, adjustments to the shift and brake cables... this is normal pre-ride attention for any bike. In good weather I like to ride it to work and back (19 miles each way/38 round trip) and the battery will last the whole both ways using levels 1 and 2 mostly and still have about 20% charge when I get back home. I have used more power to shorten the time and I have a spare charger at work to account for that if I need to use it but it will go the distance! I'm over 6 feet tall and the frame and seat height are perfect for me so keep that in mind, this is not a small bike. The seat tube would need to be cut down for shorter riders because of where the suspension pivot goes through the frame but that would be easy to accomplish with either a hack saw or tubing cutter. I'm very happy with this purchase and wouldn't hesitate in the least to get another one! ... show more

It constantly gives error codes. The price is very affordable but it is useless for anything

  • Worth $700 but…
The box my bike came in was heavily damaged with the entire end of the box cut open with a knife. The bike actually fell out of the box with the end open. All of the boxes inside were cut open with a knife. None were retaped. There were parts everywhere, falling all over the porch. There were heavy scratches on the body, took the paint right off. Every single bag and box was opened and not resealed, so obviously I got a bike that was returned. On my first run, the motor overheated, got an error message, the clanging sound of the motor and bearings overheating. Next, the speed sensor fell off and I had to walk the bike a few miles. ... show more

  • Amazing mid drive bike with just a few upgrades
So far so good. I upgraded the fork, handle bars, stem, pedals and new tires are on the way. It handles amaing, super responsive, good battery life, and feel strong. I wish the pivot points had bearing instead of bushings, but for the price it is solid. Can't wait to put it to the test with some aggressive riding! ... show more
