I purchased the small 12 inch one for my 5.5 gallon and it is so bright I actually fell in love, so even though I didn't really need it I decided to get the big one for my 75 gallon. Well its quite a bit more water so I get it and don't get me wrong it is bright, but I feel like its around half to 3/4 as bright as my little 12 inch light. I really love the timer... I came home from and turned the light on and then set the timer to 6 hours. and to my surprise the next day when I came home the next day maybe a minute or two later than the previous day the light was already on and turned off after 6 hours... Sleek design, legs were easy to adjust, and so was hooking the light cord to the energy wall plug. Now, when I first clicked the on button, my fish went berserk. The intensity of the brightness shocked my fish so bad that days after, they are still hiding and I'm not sure they are eating. I have 2 Powder Blue dwarf gouramy fish, 4 Glo-Lite rosy tiger barbs, one Emerald cory cat, I thought they were going to jump out of the tank. I did 2 clicks on the brightness to sub do a bit. Another thing I was disappointed about, if you have the light strip on 24/7 mode, you can not dim the light - full intensity. If you have the lighting on the timer mode, there is no 8 hour setting, which is the desired time for most planted tanks - there is 6 hr - 10 hr - 12 hr - NO 8 hr. Etc....So I just have it on manual on / off, now it comes on a little dimmer........................wonder when my fish will show themselves again ? This is on my 20L tank. ... show more

I’ve purchased several of these and run them on my nano tanks (5 and 10 gal), and they are great for fish color and plant growth. They are all set on a sunrise-noon-sunset-moonlight cycle, which I love, and which contributes to the natural style that I’m learning about and experimenting with. In my perfect fishroom, I’d have one of these on every tank. The only addition I make to them is to put a black ‘ledge’ on the front, they reflect too much on glass lids. ... show more

My plants began to thrive within a week of installing it - vallisneria now needs regular trimming, which is a pretty good problem to have in my book. Didn't realize my current light wasn't bright until I turned on this one. It made my 75 gallon aquarium sparkle. Also caused me to keep water cleaner to enjoy my fish again. Found button controls difficult to follow. Have mine set on the gradual sunrise, sunset mode. I'm enjoying my fish now.

The media could not be loaded. Hi, I'm an urban tropical farmer and aquatics producer, educator, and media creator. I recommend these as the #1 pick for anyone. These not only do the job, they do it by themselves. Any tank I don't have this particular series of Hygger lighting over, I end up running more than one light (and timers) to get enough light at the right colors. This combines 24/7 dawn-to-dusk features with well-engineered components to meet a price-point that is a hard win. Excellent quality and function that is not bested by any, to my knowledge. I have 2000W grow lamps down to nightlights, and everything in-between over my aquatics ventures. These are the go-to, and I specifically recommend them in articles I have authored. I bought this light for a new planted 40 gallon breeder aquarium. I love it! Great value! Several settings, timer and 24 hour option. The lighting is super bright and my plants are already having growth. I did not have $200+ to spend on a fancy light, this one has been excellent. I have a 45 gallon, heavily planted aquarium that I use this light for. It is the only source of light and my plants are growing like crazy. I don't use the timer function because I prefer to control the on/off times manually. I have my fish trained as soon as the light comes on in the morning to expect food.
