Description

A robust all around saw, ideal for demanding cutting jobs where more power is required for a longer guide bar. Equipped with X-Torq engine and high torque over a wide rpm range. The saw's body is ergonomically designed allowing for easy handling of the 460's power. This model features a combined choke/stop control which is great for easier starting and reducing the risk of engine flooding. It also boasts a centrifugal air cleaning system that removes larger dust and debris particles before reaching the air filter. This results in reduced air filter cleanings and improved engine life. Yet, when it is time to change the filter you'll find it a snap, literally, with the quick release air filter. I bought this saw due to volunteering to remove a large oak from a gentleman's yard before inspecting the actual tree. The tree was 47" in diameter at the base. I have a number of saws, from both Stihl and Husqvarna, and cut about 20 cords of wood each year. This saw is a beast. What I like about this saw, is that it is both lightweight(for size) and powerful. I have read reviews that this saw is hard to start, and I have to wonder what is wrong with their saw. I find it easy to start and the anti-vibration works very well. This is by far my fastest saw, and comparatively a miser on fuel compared to my Stihls. I find the Husqvarna's easier to work on as most of the parts you can remove and replace with the supplied scrench. The extra chains are a huge bonus and I have since ordered more. I find it faster to change a chain than to try to sharpen it on the work site, so I collect the dull ones and have my local True Value sharpen them. Even the guy who sharpens the chain commented on the excellent quality. This saw to me is a great value, even without the extra chains. Looking at the price point of this saw, I can almost buy two of them for the price of a similar Stihl, plus it is lighter than the 4 inch shorter Stihl, and seems to be better ballanced. ... show more

1st of all, I love this saw. I have yet to find a job too big or tough for it. Also the chains are good quality. That being said, my issue was self inflicted. Since I didn't use a new chain every time I used the saw I took the package as true. On the label it says it is 24" chain. 2 of the 3 were infact 24" but the 3rd was actually a 20" chain in a box labeled for 24". Since it's been 10 months since I ordered the saw the company cannot replace the chain with the correct size per policy. So with that being said check all your chains when they come in so you don't end up with a perfectly useless chain for your saw. ... show more

    • Excellent saw, Good deal if you need the longer bar
I have had a Husqvarna 460 rancher for 4+ years and very satisfied. It has a 20" bar and I was shopping for a 24" bar and chain for the occasional need to cut larger trees. When I came across this deal I couldn't resist, That it came with three extra chains was a big plus. It was delivered promptly and though I have only used it for less than an hour so far bucking up some large logs, I expect it to fully live up to expectations based on my old one. The old one has always been easy to start, thanks to the compression release button. I have worn out one bar and recently replaced the sprocket which I think is minimal for the hundreds of hours of sometimes rough use I have given it. ... show more

This chainsaw is really good I'm very happy it comes with three spare chains that are a good value they sharpen very easy the chainsaw has lots of power I was surprised for a 60cc I work in tree removal we only use steel but recently we are buying Husqvarna and we are liking it better it is on the heavy side but if you're a muscular man no problemo ... show more

This saw is awesome, easy to start and well balanced. I bought this saw because I just needed a bigger saw than my 18” one and the 24” bar and chain on this saw is great. The chain that came with the saw from the factory is for people who don’t savvy a chainsaw. The three extra chains that are included with the saw are awesome also and cut really really fast and smooth. This saw will be a big help building fence through the trees on my farm. I would definitely buy this saw again if the need ever arose. ... show more

Great saw! Plenty of power, cuts like a knife through butter. Already have about 10 hours on the saw and original chain. I'm impressed with the Husky brand chain. I've never had a chain stay sharp after this much use and very little stretch. Light and easy to handle. Starts 1st or 2nd pull every time. ... show more
