  • BEST SAW I EVER HAD
Size: 445
I have four chain saws that I always used in the past, but now i am in my 80,s and I don't have the strength to pull the cord to start them. I also have carpal tunnel, which doesn't help. This saw is so easy to pull and start that now I can cut my firewood again.

  • Excellent saw
Size: 445
I haven’t had the issues others have mentioned with starting a Husquavarna; it starts on the third or fourth pull every time for me. It cuts very well, although I’m using it against hedge Apple so the blades don’t last very long, but that’s normal with any saw. Those trees are like steel. I do take the time to drain the gas out of the tank back into the container if I’m not gonna use the saw for a while. And it does leak a drop of oil but frankly, I’ve never had a chainsaw that didn’t leak a drop of oil. It hangs on the wall and I just put my container for changing oil in my Harley underneath it. And again it’s only a couple drops. So far I’m very happy with the purchase. ... show more

  • First real test of the new saw
Size: 445
THe first experience with this saw was what I wished for many years. The product manual was well written and they are many Videos on you tube to help you alone if you need it. After following the recommented process with pushing the primer 6X, putting the saw in full choke, pulling it until the saw kicked over, the turning off then choke, then the saw started on the second pull. I did adjust the throttle "T", slightly after the saw warmed up, I then moved to a 30 foot, dead tree in our yard and the saw had no problem restarting after the first start and it cut through the dead tree like butter. I have been cutting my own winter firewood for many years and this first start with this saw was a pleasure. I cut the tree down, cut it up into the right size for my stove, split it and stack it in my wood bin all in 2 hours which included yard clean up. I would recommed this Husqvarna 445 saw based on my first day working with it. ... show more

  • Good product
Size: 445
Good chainsaw for the most part, but doesn’t explain how to increase or decrease oil for bar, figured it out myself and looked online, starts amazing and quality, also good motor. Ease of assembly is good. Speed for sure. If you get the 20 in bar make sure to increase the oil for bar. It’s on the bottom of the chainsaw. Shows a plus and minus sign. Two hex head screws to adjust oiler ... show more

Easy to use and maintain. Great chainsaw. Worth the purchase. Cut down and up a few dozen trees with it so far. No issues

  • Light and powerful
Size: 445
Love this chainsaw. Light and easy to use for long durations. I’m not a professional arborist, but have lots of trees on my property and spend days each year tending to my woods and harvesting firewood. Always loved Husqvarna and this unit is great.

  • Husqvarna customer service was poor, and return policy was misleading
Size: 445
Low rating is mostly for Husqvarna customer service. I am a little surprised, because I liked my other Husqvarna products. This chainsaw ran for 5 minutes out of the box, but then quit. After sitting for two hours, it would run for another 5-10 minutes, then quit. Works great when running, but after 5-10 minutes of cutting, if I turned it off, couldn't get it started again for two hours. Called Husqvarna, but their only customer service is via online chat. They weren't helpful. Referred me to an "authorized dealer" near my home, who turned out not to be "authorized" meaning couldn't do warranty work. Nearest "authorized dealer ends up being more than two hour drive from my home. My best guess is that the saw was over heating, then vapor locking. I have successfully repaired and maintained my Poulan chainsaws for years, but didn't want to void the warranty by doing too much on my own. Couldn't get to an authorized dealer within the return window. So, since I was still in the return window, I tried to return it, but was denied. Apparently even though the product description says it can be returned within 30 days, that turns out not to be the case. Fortunately, I then contacted Amazon customer service who was very helpful and resolved the return issue satisfactorily. Kudos to Amazon. I'd give Amazon customer service 5 stars if there was a separate way to do that. I've had Poulan chainsaws for years which have worked great (which Husqvarna apparently now owns, but doesn't make anymore). I have other Husqvarna products (ex. leaf blower) which have been great for years. The problem with the chain saw was likely just an unlucky fluke. My concern is the problem I had with customer service at Husqvarna. They pretty much left me to fend for myself on this one. ... show more

  • A might find brother to an old 445
Size: 445
This was a replacement for my "old" (about 20 years old) 445 that was showing to be a bit "long in the tooth". (It still worked but was not quite as powerful as it was when new.) After two afternoons of use, it shows to be benefiting from a few improvements Husk has made over these years.
