  • I'm only just getting into art, but...
I've found it a lot easier to get into it than when I was practicing with paper and a pencil. The thicker pen and the ability to zoom in and rotate the screen with just a few button presses makes it a lot more convenient than rotating the paper I'm drawing on or just hunching over even more than I already am to add more precise details. Speaking of the buttons, they're very clicky and I really do like that, even on the pen. I have a few issues with them, but they're fairly minor and most probably won't care. For one, I find that when I'm drawing at night without a light on, I often press the wrong button on the tablet (this isn't an issue I have with the pen, obviously), and that can get kinda frustrating when I mean to rotate my canvas and accidentally zoom in, or vice versa. Second, I found out rather early on that if I set one button to do Win + Shift + S to take a screenshot, my computer thinks that the Shift key is held down until I press it on my keyboard, which gets rather annoying rather quickly, so I just bound a different command to it (I'm pretty sure it can be fixed on the software end though, so that may not be applicable by the time someone's planning to buy it). And finally, this has to do with the pen's buttons as I don't know if it applies to the tablet, and I'm also not sure if this can be fixed, but holding down the button does not cause the command to fire multiple times as it would if you held them down on a keyboard, which makes mass Ctrl + Z's a little annoying to do. Overall though, I don't think these issues really detract from the quality of the product itself. Next is the screen, which is absolutely amazing. Same resolution as my computer screen but with colours that look as they should and not washed out like they do on said computer screen. I also love the feel of drawing on the screen because it's a nice balance between smooth and rough. While I wouldn't say it feels like drawing on paper, it definitely doesn't feel like I'm drawing on a screen either, which makes it much nicer to draw on than either. Now for the cons, and by cons I mean maybe a con that I'm not entirely sure is an issue at all and I'm just picky: I noticed that after about a week, there were some visible marks on my screen from drawing. While I am pretty sure it's just because the screen was brand new and this is just some minor wear that'll become unnoticeable the more I use it, I just thought that maybe I should go ahead and mention it. It might not even be from the screen itself, and may just be from the pen nib instead, and can be cleaned off, I just haven't tried doing so yet. And finally, there's the cable that comes in the box. I /really/ dislike having to plug in 2 USBs and an HDMI just to use the tablet. While it's usable, and most may not have a problem with it, I'm really looking forward to the USB-C cable getting here so I don't have to deal with plugging and unplugging several connectors whenever I want to use and stop using my tablet. Since I use a laptop, and I don't keep either my laptop or my tablet at my bed (which is where I draw), I can't just leave the tablet plugged in, unfortunately. And while the red USB isn't necessary, you'll notice some slight lag on faster pen strokes if it isn't, so it definitely helps if you plug it in. However, Huion, if you're reading this, I highly recommend just including the USB-C cable in the box for next time, and adding a 3-in-1 USB-C to USB and HDMI adapter for those that don't have a USB-C port on their computer. Again, most of these issues I've hard are nitpicks or not issues big enough for me to lower the review score of this tablet. While I don't really have a good frame of reference, I've not had any real issues with using the tablet, so I see no reason to make it 4 stars instead of 5. ... show more

  • A great alternative to the Wacom Tablet...but requires some troubleshooting from users.
Size: 13.3 Inch Style: purple with stand
The Huion Kamvas Tablet is a great alternative to the Wacom Cintiq for those who can't afford it but are willing to spend some money on a product of good quality and features. I bought this product at the suggestion of my sister as an alternative and to my delight, I wasn't let down by this device. In the box, you get your screen tablet, a stand, your pen along with extra points and a place to store your pen, a 3-in-1 cable that connects from the tablet to the PC's HDMI and USB input with the other USB going the wall outlet, and a USB extension cord for the wall outlet. The screen tablet is nice and bright so it's easy for you to see your work. You can even zoom in and out of your work or even switch tools with the buttons the tablet provides. The buttons while the pen feels comfortable to hold and grip as you draw. At default, the two buttons on the pen are assigned to the eraser and eyedropper, but you can reassign them with the Huion Tablet app that comes with the driver. These are your bells and whistles that definitely adds more value to the package and will help you create cool designs in your digital design program of choice However, there's a drawback to this device. If you plan to use this device while setting your display at extend mode, it doesn't quite fully work out of the box after you install the driver and connect the device after assembly. I found this out while trying to use this device on Clip Studio Paint Pro and this is a problem that some people might encounter. Not only must you ensure that you uninstall tablet drivers of other brands, but you must also go to your art program's file area, go to preferences, and switch the tablet settings to get it to work. You can see that option in the screenshot provided. Another thing to note is the 3-in-1 cable that is included to plug in the HDMI and USB to your computer. There is a second USB cable there that you must plug into a power adapter so you can plug it towards the wall. It is imperative that you do so as if you don't, the tablet will continue to connect and disconnect due to lack of power. If the power USB cable is too small for you, you can use the extension USB cord to fix this issue. Overall, this is a cool and affordable alternative to the Wacom Cintiq tablets. You are required to fix and experiment with some settings of your art program (GIMP, Paint Tool Sai, etc) to get it to work, but the payoff will be worth it in the end. I do give it my recommendation. ... show more

  • Love It
I've had this for a while. I love that it allows me to connect with a single USBC instead of the three in one so I'm not getting tangled. Instead of Huion's expensive one, I got one that was compatible and carefully sanded the outside plastic part to allow it to fit into the inset opening where they've hidden the USBC that they've made just narrow enough other brand USBCs won't fit. They really should include one but I guess it is what it is. Be sure to check your USBC is the right kind. This isn't your run of the mill dollar store find. Getting it set up can take a little doing. Mainly in ensuring configuration is correct. I can't remember specifics but I remember things being a bit janky when I first set up but had to do some calibration and configuration to get things to work properly. I still have an issue sometimes where my computer will in quick succession say it's disconnected than reconnected. Somewhere on the internet I read you could remedy this by ctl+alt+del and closing the huion process there. It doesn't disable it and makes the connect/disconnect issue stop. This software weirdness is part of why I deducted one star. Drawing on this is a ton of fun and a game changer for my art. To be honest, I also sometimes use it just as a second monitor for my laptop as I have it upright using a plate stand next to it when I'm not using it for drawing. I've not tried any other brands but I would recommend this one for sure and would buy from them again. ... show more
