Bought this carb 2 years ago, and just sat on the shelf to busy to put on and just dealt with the surging and bogging. Finally wouldn't start and it forced me to fix it. Carb fit 99% perfect, fuel inlet nipple was at 3 o'clock instead of 12 o'clock like mine, simple trim to the choke plate and it fit just fine. Original carb from the factory was also a Huayi 170sb, runs perfect with no adjustments. Craftsman snowblower with what looks to be a chinese knock off honda clone, 208cc

Te carburetor fit and worked great! The rub was that only one of the gaskets sent fit. I had to modify the others to fit.

My 12-year old Craftsman (247.98536) 24" 208cc snowblower (similar to MTD 31AS63EE793) was surging at high throttle. You can clean the carburetor - and maybe strip the main jet threads like I did - or just buy this $20 carburetor, replace it, have it running perfectly and be done with it. I took my time, making sure that I didn't do more damage than good, took out the old carb, installed the new one, closed up the snowblower AND IT STARTED DURING THE FIRST PULL. I hadn't even pulled it all the way before it started firing. No smoke, I was able to turn the choke off in 20-30 seconds, and no surging. Perfect performance. The key to this carb (on my snowblower model) is that it's an exact, identical replacement for the Huayi carb on my 270 SUA engine. Every hose, clip, mount and bracket is in the same location and orientation. IT'S VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU FIRST OPEN UP THE CARB AREA AND IDENTIFY THE EXACT CARB THAT YOU CURRENTLY HAVE. As you can see from the attached pic, my engine is a 270 SUA model. But the parts diagram for the 270 SUA engine shows that it can have carbs from 2 different makers and multiple configurations. In the 2 pics attached, you can see that I was trying to replace 1) 170SA cal code carburetor and 2) that Huayi is the maker. That confirms that the right carb is: Huayi - Cal Code 170SA - PN 951-14026A. This item is the 951-14026A. If the carb said Deni 170SA, then it would be part number 951-14027A - slightly different. Yeah, the engine is "Chinese junk", a "Chonda" whatever, blah blah blah, but I got this snowblower new for $600 12 years ago and this original carb has kept me blasting through the snow for all those winters without ever once failing me. Even after 12 years, I was able to run it on half-choke and cleared my driveway, 3 neighbors' driveways and a lot of our road. In fact, I'm buying another of these carbs today in case I need it down the road. This is the list of possible carbs on Craftsman/MTD/Cub Cadet engines, the cal codes on the carb, and their part numbers. The model below with the *'s is this Amazon item. Went on snow blower with no issues. Bad gas destroys these carburetors and OEM are either not available or to expensive. This worked as it should and for a good price.
