This first writing is a week after purchase. The extra RAM is nice for my home writing and marketing as many windows can operate simultaneously and work with programs or files off the SSD. I suppose this would be good for gaming but I just use it for KDP books and graphics for covers so its fast enough for that. (Having both an SSD and an HDD is beneficial. This combination offers a balance between speed and storage capacity.) I gave it only a 3 so far because the Wi-Fi connection has been disconnecting every day this past week since day 1, all my other devices at home have a constant strong signal, so I am disappointed so far in PC and technical support is difficult to reach. There is a link for the general HP site which I haven't gotten through on the menu system yet but it's not for the sellers. Apparently, any issues or possibly a return will have to go through HP. However the first 30 days, we can go through Amazon and Amazon's service is top notch but the review is for the unit I purchased and the seller. If I cant each technical before day 20 with an answer maybe exchange, I'll go through Amazon Overall computer is good value and operates but with the Wi-Fi going out when I am working online is unacceptable. Rebooting several times has brought it back online but doing so wipes out any open windows and work in process on the online software I use, plus my manuscripts in Word are not saved currently often ( saved to online backup stops). Honestly, when the wifi goes out, I switch to using my phone or my Fire tablet , but that's limited and time-consuming

Well for a refurbished desk top PC, it does live up to the claims made on the Amazon Webpage, So far, the unit has performed well as I slowly build this system for my needs. The one TB SSD card is quite fast. However, I needed to order an external CD/RW rom. to load my older software. I was also pleased with how well the Wi-Fi adapter is working as for some reason the ethernet port does not seem to work. As long as there is some way to get updates, I am happy. with 32 gigs of rom and an i7 processor, and an internal video processor, I see a very pleased with quality of video on my Asus 24 in monitor Why 4 stars and not five? (1) This PC came with a 200-watt power supply. If I wanted to add a higher quality video card, my choices are very limited. Most of the modest video cards require 300–350-watt Power supply. Size of the power supply should be noted in description (2) for those of us who have older machines. The software we ordered back in the day came with the programs on a CD. All PC's, even the ones that are sold today, should have a CD rom drive or Blur ray CD rom drive (3) Although it was noted that the computer might be shipped in a non-factory box, the computer I got had some protection in the form of a "form fitting ribbed air sleeve". However, the sleeve only covered half of the PC. and there was no extra bubble packaging to keep the keyboard and mouse box from sliding all over the place.

Disappointed that you have to purchase special adapters if you want to input with HDMI cables. Being a newer machine, one would simply assume USB as standardization of various ports. No I have to puchase adapter cables at $14,99 each! Not to happy over this!

We have bought many of these for resale - I have had a computer company for 38 years. The hard drives all of the refurbishing companies are using lately are junk - either BTO or Kingfast. The failure rate I have been seeing is at least 33%. However, the computers themselves are good deals and everything else about them works fine. I have been purchasing Samsung SSD drives (the best!) and replacing the junk hard drives immediately before we deliver them to customers. It is easy to change the SSD drives out. You will have to clone the old drive or just install windows on the new one (no cost to download the Windows 10 install). For the money you will end up with a great, stable machine.
