Best purchase EVER! Gave me back my concerts and travel. Exceptional customer service.
Color: Nfc Navy
The two activities I love most in the world are travel and concerts. Recently, my mobility issues have started to make both of those pursuits far more difficult for me. Choosing the right mobility scooter can be confusing. There are so many options available that it makes your head spin. I spent HOURS agonizing over which one to order and comparing features like weight capacity, portability, mileage you can go on a charge, seat comfort, etc. I absolutely could not be more thrilled with the scooter I ultimately selected. This Hoverfly model T4 4-Wheel mobility scooter is an absolute game changer. First of all, assembly was a breeze using the included instructions. We had it put together in just minutes. After charging the battery to full, the scooter was ready to go for its first test run. The scooter is aesthetically pleasing and feels rock solid. With its 330 lb. weight capacity, I feel safe and secure while riding it even as a plus-size gal (especially with the supplemental anti-tip wheels on the back). The seat is made of a durable pleather material that's easy to wipe clean and padded enough to be very comfortable. The base of the seat is not only wide enough, but you can adjust the dual armrests for the best fit. The back of the seat folds down, which is a very thoughtful feature for transporting the scooter. Speaking of transporting, I looked at a LOT of scooters that weighed quite a bit less than this one does or folded up without any disassembly, but I'm still satisfied I picked the right one. Many of the others I considered looked as though they might be easier to transport, but I feel I'd have been sacrificing a LOT of comfort and stability for that convenience. I needed a scooter that would be portable but still able to handle my weight and comfortable enough to use for hours at a time. I wasn't buying this for trips to the grocery store - my scooter needs to be able to last all day at an outdoor festival! I'll be honest, when the box first arrived, it weighed about 100 lbs. and I thought I might have misjudged in terms of being able to take this scooter on the go. However, once opened and assembled, the distribution of weight across its components made it work out just fine. The removable battery weighs about 21 lbs. The seat attaches by means of a steel stem that projects underneath the bottom of the chair unit and slides into a steel tube that sticks up from the scooter; for travel, you simply lift the seat up and off. You slide the basket off the front of the tiller/steering column, and then that whole post simply folds down by twisting a dial on the side. At that point, it took two people to lift the base, now weighing about sixty pounds, up and into my daughter's small SUV. The scooter is honestly just an inch or two too long to fit sideways in her trunk, but with the back seat folded down, we're able to maneuver it in and still have room for the seat, battery and basket to go in with it. I LOVE the NFC keyless start feature! No fumbling for keys. The scooter comes with two of the NFC cards in case you lose one, want to stow one in your house and one in your car, or have a trusted companion hold onto the extra. The scooter is easy to operate using the levers on the tiller: right for forward, left for reverse (and there's a beeping noise when you back up to warn anyone in your way). You can adjust your speed using a dial, with the ranges indicated by a chuckle-inducing "tortoise" to "hare" scale. The seat swivels on its base so you don't have to struggle against a fixed, stationary chair to get on and off your scooter. There are three different spots on the deck to place your feet when riding, and there's a rugged texture on the surface to help prevent slipping. This scooter is really compact, and the recommended height is under 5'8." Not an issue for me, but may not be ideal if you're tall. The digital display is clear and readable and shows you your battery life, speed and whether you're in forward or reverse mode. There's even a headlight you can switch off and on, and horn you can toot to warn people of your approach (albeit it's not very loud). Another thing that made this scooter stand out from the others was the dual baskets. The one beneath the seat is especially generous in size, but the one on the handlebars will hold your purse and anything else to which you need easy access. This model simply had a lot more space to stow things than most of the others at which I looked. Very thankful for the cupholder! It's not for big gulp cups or anything, but it grips a normal-size drink quite securely. This battery is the lead-acid type (24v/12Ah). Important: I do not know yet if this battery is airline-approved. Check with your carrier before travel! The battery is removable - you can charge it up using the included charging cord either while it sits on the scooter or separately by itself. There's even a USB charging port. Note the instructions say it should be charged every couple of weeks to keep it maintained and avoid degradation of the battery life. For safety, I prefer to keep the battery indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. One of the features that really sold me is the switch that allows you to put the scooter in manual mode and push it. This is useful in situations where you're on too much of a grade to ride safely (it really only does handle about a 10 degree grade - I have had to push it over hills that were too steep to traverse safely), and it would be invaluable in the event the battery were to die and you needed to move the scooter. The scooter sits on 9" puncture-proof tires. I've had to ride over grass and dirt paths and go over small curbs, and the scooter handled it seamlessly, although I wouldn't recommend going majorly off-roading or anything. The motor is a powerful 250 watts and the scooter can achieve a speed of 4.7 mph and, under optimal conditions, one six-hour charge lasts up to 12.4 hours. Mileage can vary based on the type of terrain, whether you're going up hills, how much weight the scooter is carrying and other factors; one thing I've found useful is that, if I'm going to be parked for a while, I switch the scooter off to conserve power and, so far, I've never even discharged the battery to less than half full during a single outing. I've taken it to three concerts now, including two outdoor amphitheatre venues and a MASSIVE all-day festival last weekend. This is currently priced at around $600, though with sales it sometimes dips down closer to $400ish. Considering all of the features this scooter boasts, even compared to others that are priced at twice this much, this is an absolute STEAL. The last thing I want to leave you with is that this company takes customer service to a whole new level. As a first-time purchaser, I had multiple questions about shipping/delivery logistics and other things. Among others who responded almost immediately to my e-mail outreach, Phoebe at Hoverfly's customer service team deserves special praise. She kept responding in detail to my inquiries and was consistently both helpful and professional. It's one thing to love a product, but knowing a company cares enough to connect me with a real person to whom I can reach out and actually seems invested in the outcome for their customers is so reassuring. THANK YOU, Phoebe! The founder of this company, which is based out of Dallas, apparently developed this scooter after witnessing the struggles experienced by an elderly family member. He talked with potential end users and designed this product with a specific focus on improving the lives of older people and those with obesity and limited mobility. I am here to tell you that the level of care put into this process produced an end result that truly delivers on that vision. Long story very long - I give this item my highest, five-star recommendation. I'd give ten stars if I could. THANK YOU, Hoverfly, for keeping me in the game! ... show more

Great!!
Color: Nfc Navy
Honest what could be better worked out of the box. Sure some minor Assembly required but very little. One hang up for me, is where are the seat mounting bolts?? Hey guess what they were preinstalled in the mounting holes. The battery was pretty well charged so I took for a ride down the driveway and back... in some light rain. Very quality scooter especially for the price. Buy it! ... show more

Perfect for All-Day Use
Color: Nfc Navy
I bought this scooter for a family member to use during our trip to Disneyland, and it worked great! The battery lasted all day—we were in the parks from 8 AM to 9 PM, and we never had any issues with it running out of power. The only downside is that the turning radius could be better, especially in tight spaces. Other than that, everything worked perfectly. Overall, we’re very happy with the scooter and I would definitely recommend it! ... show more

A wonderful convenience around our lake community!
Color: Nfc Navy
I am very happy with my Hoverfly 4-Wheel Mobility Scooter! I live in a lake community spread out over several miles. Although I have full control of my body and don’t need a scooter for everyday mobility, it is wonderful to have when I want to get to the other side of the lake. It is comfortable, easy to operate, and gives me the freedom and convenience to enjoy more of our community without taking my car. I’m very pleased with it and would definitely recommend it! ... show more

Does the job but there are better ones out there
Color: Nfc Ruby
We decided to get this incase the replacement battery for our other mobility scooter did not show up in time for when we needed it. Was pretty self explanatory putting it together from out of the box. Made sure that I fully charged the battery so it was ready to go. The battery comes with a reset button to it incase you have do that. I will say though after being spoiled with a lithium battery, this battery is heavy and pretty big. The battery charge from being 100% literally gave us exactly 12hrs of use. That is with making sure to turn it off when not in use and it wasn’t even using the rabbit mode at all. The basket placement I do like that it’s kind of under and not protruding out the back taking up more space. However, depending on your seat height you lose some storage height space as well as the chair does not swivel. It gets caught on the basket if it’s not high enough. The seat itself and the arm rests are super cushiony and comfortable. It’s nice that there is no key but rather a card to turn on and off the scooter. It hasn’t happened and I hope it doesn’t, but one downfall could be that the cards get demagnetized which I hope doesn’t happen. The scooter when driving doesn’t make sharp turns so making sure you give enough space and time to make the turn. There is also a light for when it’s dark and the horn isn’t a loud obnoxious one which is a good thing. One of the other problems I don’t like is the wheels in the back to help with tipping. THEY DO NOT ROLL. We tried to tip to just see if it works but literally every time the scooter just hit the bar instead of the wheels, almost as if the wheels aren’t big enough. I would say it’s an alright scooter but there are better ones out there for sure. ... show more
