  • Solid Entry-Level Scooter with a Few Minor Flaws
Style: Neo X (Ages 12 - 16) Color: Blue
The Hover-1 Neo X is a well-built entry-level scooter that's great for beginners. Setup was quick and easy—just four bolts to attach the handlebar to the stem, and everything needed (including extra bolts and tools) is provided in the box. Build & Display: The scooter feels solid and sturdy. The digital display is bright, easy to read in both daylight and nighttime, and shows current speed, speed mode, battery level, and light status clearly. Lighting: The built-in headlight (mounted in the center of the handlebar) illuminates about 5 feet ahead. While it works fine for basic visibility, the beam could be wider. I plan to add a separate bike light to improve nighttime riding. Surprisingly, the underbody light is brighter and lights up a 3–4 foot radius around the scooter, which adds great visibility in the dark. The tail light is functional, though nothing special. Performance: To engage the motor, you’ll need a light kick-start to about 2 mph. Once the motor kicks in, there’s a noticeable jolt—nothing crazy, but it might surprise first-time riders. At 230 lbs, I was able to reach the advertised top speed of 15 mph on flat roads, which was impressive. However, the scooter struggled on hills with a 4.5% incline, eventually slowing to a stop and requiring a manual kick to continue uphill. This is expected for scooters in this price range, but worth noting if you have a lot of elevation in your area. Design Flaws: The biggest issue I ran into was with tire inflation. The front tire has a cover that makes it nearly impossible to fit a standard pump valve, and the rear tire—while uncovered—still has very limited space due to the small 8.5" wheel size. A valve extender is highly recommended. Also, while folding the scooter is simple, the latch that's supposed to hook onto the rear fender doesn’t quite line up correctly—it’s off by a few millimeters and doesn't securely lock in place. Final Thoughts: Overall, this is a solid scooter for beginners or casual riders. It performs well on flat terrain, looks great with its underglow lights, and is easy to set up and fold (despite the latch issue). Just be prepared to make a couple of small upgrades—like a light and a valve extender—for the best experience. ... show more

  • Great scooter
Style: Neo V (Ages 8 - 12) Color: Black
This electric scooter is built well and seems very sturdy. The throttle on the thumb is very responsive and the brakes work great too! This unit has side LED lights on the baseplate, a nice touch. It’s advertised as being able to go up 15 mph, so not great there but beats using your legs! The speedometer screen is nice and easy to view, clearly lays out how fast you’re going and if the lights are on. It folds up flat for easy storage. Headlamp works well. I have two cons: The bolts were really tough to attach the handlebars to the drive column. There are no blinkers on this model, which would have been nice. Other than those two things, great electric scooter! ... show more

  • Great power and stability
Style: Neo V (Ages 8 - 12) Color: Gray
The media could not be loaded. This scooter is extremely nice looking and well made. Love the headlight and speed mode plus all the gauges .. it has plenty of power to move me around at 220 lbs. I’m sure it could do more weight.. the run time is great and the kickstand holds on in place ! I would definitely buy another!!! ... show more

  • Awesome scooter for a beginner
Style: Neo X (Ages 12 - 16) Color: White
We've been really happy with this scooter so far. We've never ridden one before, because we've never wanted to try them out on busy city streets. Having our own personal one has allowed us to slowly learn how to ride one safely and adjust to riding them safely on the road. There's lots of nice safety features to the scooter. There's a front light that lights the ground immediately in front of you as well as a back brake light. We've opted to put our own bike light on front as well with the flashing mode when we ride it to make ourselves more visible to motorists. We also have a red flasher on the back of our helmet for the same reason. If we do it on our bikes, why not on our scooter, right? There's also a few reflective stickers around the scooter, and I love the lighted bottom all along both sides of the scooter. Using the lights do drain the battery more, but our trips so far have been very short, around 2-3 miles. The wide wheel helps with stability, but steering from so high up still takes getting used to. The running board that you stand on could be a little longer, because I have size 8 women's feet, and I can barely fit both my feet on the board. The textured rubber surface is very nice for grip though. The charging port is protected by a small rubber cap, but I wished they would've provided a more secure cover. I'm a little concerned that the cap will break off or pop off at some point. The way it's designed, it's almost like they don't plan for you to use the scooter very often. The nice thing is that it takes less than five hours to fully charge for another ride. One of my favorite features is the eco mode that only lets you go up to 9MPH. This is a perfectly comfortable speed for me and using this mode ensures that I can throttle it without accidentally going too fast. I've ridden it on flat roads, and it hits 15mph with no problems, but when there's little rises and dips in the road, it'll vary by about 2-3mph. Supposedly, it can handle up to 15% incline which is pretty steep. I've taken it on hills with inclines of about 10%, and the speed tops out at around 7-8mph. Note, I'm 5'4", 135lbs, but my husband gets about the same speeds, and he's 5'9", 155lbs. The only other little wish I had for this scooter is some way to secure it. There's no hooks or rings for me to run a cable lock of some type to secure it if I need to go into a store real quick. As far as I can tell, any way that I try to secure it, it can be easily stolen. At 35 lbs, there's no way it's feasible for me to carry around. ... show more

  • Do not waste your money on this overpriced, scooter.
Style: Neo V (Ages 8 - 12) Color: Gray
I'm FURIOUS with this scooter! Slow, shoddy build, screen popped out, and died mid-ride. It NEVER TURNED BACK ON and now it's just collecting dust in my room. $400 max is a rip off.
