I received my hotplate about two weeks ago and have used it multiple times, happy with all of them. Heats up nicely and cooks evenly. I want to address some of the complaints in other reviews. First, with every product there are going to be a few that just don't work. Return them and get one that does. If you do the registration process (email them a picture and your order #) described in the product instructions, they have a good warrant in case of problems. Second, it does heat up slowly but that is true of all electric burners, hotplates or stovetops. It takes a learning curve to figure out what settings you want but that's life. It got plenty hot to fry things, lower temps are perfect for simmering. Most stoves just say "high, medium, low" but this one has numbers. Easy to figure that out. Also, once hot it does stay hot and even after you turn it off. That's a function of it being heat-retaining cast iron instead of some cheaper metal. When I make eggs or pancakes, for example, I turn the burner off halfway through the first side and then flip them and let the retained heat finish side two. One thing to keep in mind is that the pan will be HOT so set it on a heat-resistant surface until it's cooled down. That's in the instructions. I find you get better results if you read them and pay heed. The unit itself is nice and stable, sturdy and heavier than most hotplates because it's cast iron. I also love that there's no gap around the burner for food or liquid to spill into and ruin everything. It takes a full-size skillet, it's not tiny, but it doesn't take up a huge amount of counterspace either. Yes, the off and on rub off the control knob pretty quickly but I put a little + and - on there with black tape and problem solved. Also, the big orange light when you turn it on is a pretty good clue. Read and follow the instructions and hopefully you'll be as happy with yours as I am with mine.

I crank this thing up to MAX to sear steaks outside. It gets cast iron SMOKING hot. If you're using anything with oil, it will rub of the number labels on the dials pretty quickly, so make sure you learn the controls first before cleaning it too much. Heats up really quickly and easy to clean off the grease afterwards. I think there were some reviews that mentioned or complained about the dials being hot since they are metal. I was worried about that at first, but I personally do not think they get incredibly hot within 15-30minutes. My only call out on this product is that the dials do not have much resistance, so it can easily be moved inadvertently (i.e. rubbing your hand against it [although you would be questioning why that happens, but it does]). So I suggest always make sure you unplug it when it's not in use despite having it on off for your safety and precaution.

So far really like this unit. 1 - Heats up fast - got to 300 degrees in less than 30 seconds. (it does get hotter just used this as a baseline) 2 - 2 knob control which is a good feature as you can leave the heat setting where you want and turn it off with the other knob. (like when you're straining something and will be going back to finish cooking etc. 3 - Good weight - It's not so light that when you're vigorously shaking a pan for stir fry or flipping items it stays in place. 4 - The unit does get hot, this is from radiant heat so don't grab it to move it. The knobs get very slightly warm but not hot. I have this on a wooden cooking cart I use for streaming and it does not get hot under the unit. There is no scorching to the countertop. There are vents under the unit so do not put this on a towel or anything that may block the vents. 5 - Size is great! I also love that the sides of the unit don't come up so high and allow me to put a larger pot/pan on it with ease.

Love ♡ My husband and I are staying in a family members guest bedroom while we are waiting for our new home to be built. And they only had a small kitchenette with no stove. So we got a few other products to try to cook basic items. They all fell short time and time again. Till I found this ♡♡ now I can easy and quickly make myself some tea, he can cook a full pasta dinner, or what ever else we can think of. It fits on the counter perfectly. It is small enough to store in the cupboard with no issues. Easy to clean, even when my husband tries his hardest to make it super messy ;) There were no issues with shipment or packaging. So happy with this product ♡♡ So happy to be able to cook again ♡♡

I purchased this product for our picnic. I am going to use this burner to cook ramen. So, first I tried it at home. I like smooth surface and dark color. It is very easy to clean. Also, I like simple design and small size so that I can take it easily to camping or traveling. The hot plate is very powerful, it heats up so quick, there are 7 temperature control heating settings. So it can be save money and energy ^^ So far I like it! Great product!

This product is quite dangerous. At first it would not heat up to full temperature. After three weeks it began to over heat dangerously. No matter what setting, the unit was on extreme high heat. This morning, it managed to turn itself on to an extremely high heat while we were asleep. The smell of the burning coil filled up our home and woke us up. The only way to cool it down was to unplug the unit entirely. Strongly urge to take this off the market. Entirely unsafe.
