Its modern glass top cooking elements are thick and no spaces between the elements and top rang means no spilling and easy cleaning. Cusimax Double Electric burner is a portable stove that works great for small and medium sized pots and pans. I have been using it daily for 2 months now with medium sized ceramic coated pots and pans and have had no issues. I have also used a griddle on the Cusimax and it works fine. I've cooked spaghetti, boiled eggs, ribeye steak, chicken, sausage, rice, eggs, instant noodles, and ground beef patties for hamburgers. I have had no issues with this unit except the knobs do get hot. After each use, i do turn off the unit and immediately unplug it from the outlet for safety reasons. I love the color Red, that caught my eye. I like the machine, but it does take a long time to cook using both burners at the same time. I figured it may be a defective one, so I returned to giveit another try. I'll give another report later.

    • It does the jobs but with potential hazard
<UPDATE> It's been 3 months since I bought it, and it started producing a smell of burning plastic/rubber. I checked everything on/around the burner to make sure nothing was touching or melting, so it must be coming from inside the burner. It's been a week since it started producing the smell and doesn't seem to be going away. <Original> I'm glad I read other reviews so I knew what to expect. As other reviewers pointed, it takes really long time to heat up and takes as much long time to cool down. Once it's heated, it works well, and reaches high heat that's pretty good for portable burner. It's warning it takes forever to cool down, so I have to remove the pot from it even after I turn the heat off. If someone has kids, it can be quite dangerous. Also the control dial gets really hot, to the point you could burn your finger if you hold it for a second too long or too tight. Another potential hazard for kids. That's why there is one extra dial (so total 2) to turn it off (1 dial for each plate, plus 1 dial for the entire burner) for safety reason, maybe. I'm not sure. I just unplug it as a precaution. Functionality pros and cons were 50/50 so I almost returned it, but the size/dimension fits so well in my small kitchen, so that tilted the scale and I decided to keep it. But I wouldn't buy it again. ... show more

I'm quite pleased with this. Contrary to what many have said, there was absolutely NO SMOKING NOR SMELL when I first turned it on. None. It cooks nearly as well as my cooktop. The cast iron burner hold heat so incredibly well that a pot of water kept a rolling boil for probably another 5 minutes. Wish I'd timed it. I thought I'd forgotten to turn it off and kept checking it! Wipes clean SO easily, even after using it to fry hamburgers. Yes, I would definitely recommend this little worker bee! ... show more

    • Great but slow
I got this to use to cook food at work for me and my coworkers. It is nice and portable which makes it nice to bring in on days when I need it. The one down side I have is that it takes a really long time to warm up. Not 100% sure it wasn't my fault but it was frustrating waiting for it to get up to temperature so I could get started. It also didn't get as warm as I would have liked however with modern pots it was more then sufficient for what I needed so over all it was great. ... show more
