I bought this portable stove for two purposes: (1) Use it in my back yard and an additional heating source for my picnics/parties; (2) Took it to camping and road trips. So I can cook some food what I like, Healthy and delicious food is very important to me, especially during the trip.This stove has very manageable size and weight, very easy to carry around. Bought this to replace a drop in Induction cook top I had installed in my RV. It was smaller than the induction top so I had to improvise. The induction top stopped working on any pan smaller then 7 inches. This was the only replacement I could find that could be used as a drop in top. The next day a dump truck took out a phone pole and power transformer and the power co. said it would be about 16 hours to get the power back. Since it was slated to be below freezing the next morning, we moved into the RV for the night, in order to have heat, TV and to be able to cook. Combined with the gas burners and this electric cook top all went well. This thing cooked great. Glad I had full gas tanks on the RV and generator. Don't believe all the hype about "Induction" cook tops. They don't cook any faster, they don't use any less electricity, and you have to have special cookware. I can say this from experience. Got to update this review: First time I first used it, I made mac & cheese and heated up canned veggies. It worked fine for that. Boiled the 1-1/2 Qts water fine. The second time using I tried to boil 3 Qts water for spaghetti noodles and this thing WILL NOT boil that much water. USELESS. The indicator light went off and on constantly but it would never get to a boiling state. I had to go into the garage and get an 1100 watt burner and guess what? It boiled the water just fine and after adding the noodles I found that there wasn't enough water so I had to add another Qt and it still boiled it fine. Since my Amazon return window has past, I guess I'll be throwing this thing in the garbage and looking for something that will work correctly. I've learned a lesson here. The next one I get I will first have to see if it will boil a gallon of water. If not it goes back.

Using the ceramic double hot plate in a kitchenette, full time use and it really works nicely! The width between the two plates could be a couple inches wider but it still holds a standard fry pan and standard pot at the same time or this smaller pot and a medium wok together. It heats up really fast and doesn’t require using induction cookware. Cleans up easily (we accidentally melted a hard plastic piece on it and after it cooled the plastic scraped off with no trace). This would also work if you had the sills to create a butcher block with a cut out for the drop in measurements (and venting) or had a counter space to drop it into. Pleasantly surprised at the value for the quality, so far reliable, product.

It works just like my stove, but portable and more convenient. It heats up very fast. Stable platform and works great with all types of cookware. Temperature range from low to high, so work well on either stir fry or slow cook. The metal surface makes easy to clean.
