I love the concept of this but I think the battery power needs to be longer. I feel like it takes longer for me to straighten my hair with this than it would a plug-in and it doesn't quite straighten it all the way. I have wavy hair, and normally it doesn't take too much to straighten it but with this it feels like it takes twice as long for half the result. That being said, I do think this is effective for travel or to just keep in your car for touch-ups. The silicone sleeve is extremely useful but still gets pretty hot when the tool is on, so be careful when you remove it if you heat up the straightener with the sleeve on. ... show more

The good: the fact that this is cordless is great. It makes it so much easier to use, particularly when traveling. The cover that slips over the top to keep it together for storage or travel keeps things neat. The not so good: I didn't expect this to have the same power as a plug in flat iron, and I was right! I wish it was more effective, but it's fine for smaller and thinner sections. So long as I remember to go slower then it's not too bad. It takes a LONG time to heat up, though. Whereas most flat irons heat up in 15 seconds, maybe 30 seconds, this one takes 3-5 MINUTES. That's fine if you want to do something else while you're waiting, but it's definitely not helpful when you're in a hurry! It's not a total waste of money if you adjust your expectations ahead of time, though, and the cordless portability could be a game changer. ... show more
