A couple things to know: there are cheap, lower cost, mid-range, and high quality knives. This set falls into the upper middle quality range. The knives are all weighted well and offer a variety of options and sizes for what the job requires. The build quality is appropriate to the price. Metal quality is on par with the cost. They are sharp right out of the box, but they WILL require edge maintenance. Handle shape, size, and fit are good. This is a butcher set, it does not come with steak knives and utility knives, you're in the wrong place if that's what you seek.

This set is real sharp and appears to hold a good edge. We have not used them extensively, but we have purchased 3 sets. One as a gift, one for ourselves and an accident we also gifted. Everyone has used them to some extent and all of us liked them. The leather roll is a nice touch and is thicker than I imagined when we ordered. The handles are of good quality and the overall look and feel is high on the scale. Great set for those who butcher their own meat and/or buy bulk and cut down to portions.
