Instructions say you need 2-3 people to complete in 2 hours but I did it myself in about 45 mins, maybe an hour. Right out of the box the rack felt sturdy, tough, and the coating on the rack seems very durable and not cheap. Once fully put together it feels like nothing can take it down. The adjustment features were perfect for the size of my 5ft bed. I do like the key dismount feature that allows me to take the whole rack off without disassembling it and while leaving the mounting brackets on the bed rail system to easily put it back on. I bought it for my 2020 Toyota Tacoma 5ft bed so I can put my tent on it to go camping. I haven’t tested that yet but I will come back with an update in a few weeks when I do go camping. But for now I’m more than happy with it. 03/29 Update: Used the rack with my roof top tent for the first time and it worked great!! I even added some molle racks to it with T handle bolts to mount them to the rack slots. The rack held up for 3 days and the quality of this rack just went sky high. Very impressed. All the plastic has discolored just a few months after buying. The powder coat is flaking. This rack is a huge disappointment. Don’t waste your money!

Took me about an hour and a half to put together, but I was taking my time. The instructions required rereading a few times, but overall, someone with basic mechanical skills should have no problems.     • Solid rack, couple of points for improvement
Easy to install, especially the anchor points. Solid rack, quality coating. I have two issues. 1) The screws for attaching the bars that run the length of the bed are too soft of a metal (aluminum? zinc?), too easy to strip the hex socket. I'm going to have to buy a couple of new ones (should be had from my local hardware store). 2) Attaching the top cross members is a pain. Using the plate with threaded holes is not a bad idea, however, that plate has too much vertical play and it's a real pain to get the bolts started without having a third hand to pin that plate in spot. Additionally, the bolts that fit into the recessed portion of the riser (the 'armpit', if you will) are a trick, especially given that the washer diameter is often a very tight fit in that hole, which means the bolts don't thread straight. I'll probably need a new bolt and plate if I have to adjust the rack at some point. Finally, Hooke Road, pay for a damn tech writer to put together an easy to read assembly guide. I was a gas turbine tech in the Navy and I had to read those instructions 4 times before I figured out what the hell I needed to do. ... show more

    • Not a Heavy Duty Rack, especially for off road.
I bought this rack last year for My 2023 Tocoma. Part A on Model QT 10019 has broken making the rack unusable. The screws kept vibrating loose and required tightening every few weeks, After about month 4 there were stress fractures on one part that conects to Part C and the plate that the screws went through broke out completely with no way to refasten the joint to Part A to hold the cross bar. The material is a cast aluminium and not able to be fixed or welded. The rack was used only once to carry 6 2x4 lumber, so the damage came from road vibration. The forward standing legs I fixed with a longer M8 bolt and had to fill the threads with JB weld to keep them from vibrating loose of causing fractures. This is not a heavy duty rack that will withstand vibration on a dirt road and will not withstand off road use. Looks Nice but will not hold up. I had problems with it almost directly after install. There is no site that sells replacemnet parts, but still should not even be needed with less than a year being installed. ... show more

    • Terrible rack!!!!
This rack did not provide or tolerate the weight guidelines provided!! The system used to connect the top beams to side beam are only small brackets that are not stable enough for weight limits provided. The rack is unstable and fails as bed rack!!!
