  • UPDATED to 5 Stars!
12/6/2022 - Resideo was kind enough to honor my warranty request with the help of an independent HVAC contractor, as the T10 is a "Professional" model. So, the same thing started happening a few days into my replacement (new) T10 thermostat. Fortunately, I had done enough research, troubleshooting, and had a couple of cheap furnace parts on hand, and, fingers crossed, it may have been a flaky pressure switch on my inducer motor that was causing the issues. It was just a coincidence that changing out the original T10 for a basic non programmable t-stat "seemed" to cure the issue. Time will tell, but if this thing continues to work, it's fantastic, and hands down, better than Ecobee's latest 2022 Premium, IMO. 5+ STARS ---end of update I really wanted to like this thermostat, as I have always had Honeywell t-stats in the past. I was warned that the T10 had to be installed by a "professional" in order to have ANY warranty whatsoever, whereas the T9 is approved for installation by the homeowner. Honestly, other than additional features, the installation process is virtually identical, so I don't understand this distinction. I ordered the unit in Sept of '22, and installed immediately. I wanted the T10, as I had also purchased a Honeywell HM750 whole house steam humidifier, and it is one of the few t-stats that can control a steam humidifier. Well, as summer transitioned into fall, the t-stat appeared to work great! However, once the temps dropped consistently enough to require full time heat setting, it began to fail. I honestly thought it was my furnace that was failing, as half the time, the ignitor and gas valve failed to activate, even though the inducer seemed to run fine. I was chasing down pressure switches, ignitors, and even the IFC main furnace board! No improvement. However, bypassing the T-stat at the IFC directly, the furnace ran fine! This was not a solution, as I couldn't sit in front of my furnace 24x7 to control it manually every day. Ultimately, I went to a local box store and bought the cheapest basic thermostat I could find, and plugged that in, and the system has been running great! Unfortunately, I can't control my fancy steam humidifier, and had to resort to using the included humidiPro. Through an independent HVAC specialist, who came out and assisted me in this project, I was able to ultimately get a replacement ticket initiated through Resideo, however, I am awaiting acknowledgement of the required attachments I sent them, verifying my purchase and the device info. Currently, I am using an Ecobee Premium. By comparison, I find it's app highly convoluted, and it takes considerable focus to find what I need. Also, there is no "circulate" function on the Ecobee, whereas there is on the T10. The Resideo app is by no means great, as it must be force closed to get the latest data from the T10 every time you make a change, but it's simple and concise to use. They just need to update it so it will refresh in the background, and not require a force close each time you pull it back up. Also, I prefer the functionality of the Honeywell remote sensors over the Ecobee sensors because the Honeywell pull both Temp AND Humidity, along with motion activity, whereas the Ecobee sensors do NOT pull humidity! I want both temperature AND humidity levels balanced! There is no reason for Ecobee to not include this in their remote sensors.... I will update this review once I get some action on my RMA process. ... show more

  • Great Thermostat-Easy to Use
Had a new HVAC system installed and upgraded our thermostats. Love the ability to check/set each zone from the app no matter what my location is. Highly recommend.

  • Great thermostat.
Performs it exactly as I expected it to. The only glitch is you have to know what app to download and the only way to find that out is by calling the one 800 number in the package.

  • Good for vacation rentals
UPDATE 11/22/2021 Be aware that if you install a T10 thermostat yourself, Honeywell will not warranty the unit if it later fails. Even if it has been operating properly during much of its "warranty" period then suddenly fails. It must be installed by a "professional", presumably an HVAC contractor who has an agreement maybe some training to install Honeywell products. So-called "professional" installation is presumably not cheap. In small tourist towns like Key West, it may not even be available. You should consider the cost savings of installing it yourself as the cost of self-funding your own warranty replacement later if it dies. If that doesn't work for you, you may have to forego the unique features of the T10 and go with a different brand and model. Deducted two stars for this unfortunate policy. ------------------ We have installed two of these T10 Pros in vacation rentals because they support three things that are essential to us - remote monitoring and control, being able to dumb-down the thermostat so the guest can simply raise or lower the thermostat at will without a schedule getting in the way, and using the A/C to overcool when needed to keep the humidity below a set point. On the first point, the T10 is pretty much like most wifi thermostats. We can use the Honeywell Home app to check and change the temperature and humidity in our units from anywhere. With the included remote sensor we can also check it in a 2nd room or space where the sensor is located. The mode of the thermostat (heat/cool/auto/off) and fan mode (auto/off) can be set, as can the A/C overcool function and humidity setting (see later). The "dumb down" feature, as I call it, is one of the most important in a rental. It lets you make the thermostat as simple to control as a "dumb" thermostat and keeps guests out of the confusing screens. We do this in two ways. First, it is one of a very few smart thermostats that let you completely disable the schedule. The guest doesn't have to futz with changing the temperature then having the schedule set it back later, nor try to figure out how to reprogram the schedule themselves. Or be stuck with a temperature we set. Second, a security setting lets you fully or partially lockout access to some functions. Fully locking the thermostat is like putting a box over it. You can't even change the temperature. Partially locked lets the guest change the temperature up and down, but they can't get into (or get confused by) anything else like the schedule or setup screens. In this mode, it's just a very simple up-down setting on simple and obvious screens. Everything I described above can also be done with the consumer T9 model. But our properties are in FL, and humidity can be a problem especially when the outside temp is low enough that the A/C doesn't run, which means the A/C isn't also squeezing-out the moisture in the air, and humidity levels in the unit can rise, risking mold and mildew. The T10 supports dehumidifying by running the A/C if the humidity exceeds a threshold that we set. So when a property is unoccupied, we can set the temperature higher knowing that the A/C will still run as much as needed to keep the humidity at safe levels. There on one "broken" feature in my opinion. The partially locked mode I described above only lets you change the temperature - but not the mode (i.e. heat/cool/auto/off). So locking the guest out of the other settings also prevents them from changing the thermostat from heat to cool, or cool back to heat, or off. They're stuck with whatever mode I have set using either the app or at the thermostat using a password. I would much prefer if the partially locked mode made the thermostat function just like a "dumb" thermostat, where you can set the temperature, you can choose heat, cool, or off, and you can set the fan to on or auto. But that's not how it works. The best I can do is set the thermostat mode to Auto where it automatically switches between heat and cool as needed. It's an ok solution, but again, I would have preferred it to emulate the basic thermostat functions that everybody understands. ... show more
