It's basically the 808 and 909 in the same pedal with the 909 having two augmented versions. 4 in 1 Versatility. I run this pedal into an orange micro terror through a 2x12 with vintage 30s. Not only the best tone I have ever had? The loudest as well

If you play rock, jazz, or anything with lite distortion, this is a great pedal for you. If you play any metal genres/sub genres, this is just a boost pedal. But I will say, it sounds fantastic as such running into a 6505+.

I bought the TS9DX pedal about two months ago and I didn't write any reviews because I had to try it, and the only thing I could write was how fast the pedal was delivered. This came the next day. So, people have asked me about the TS9DX and it's hard to give them an idea. My music style is Blues, and the good thing about this pedal, for me, is that it has an extra control and I can vary the Screamer sound to the desired. For me, I have the selector most of the time on the "Turbo" channel which is a thicker sound or a deeper sound .... With the Mode control, everyone can adjust the sound they like to their liking. I accompany the "TS9DX" with the pedal "Digital Stereo Chorus" also from the same company "Ibanez" in one of its channels With the TS9 you acquire a single output sound. I regret not having given my impression about the quality of the "TS9DX" before because I had to prove how good and versatile the pedal is ... ... show more

Tube Screamers are a classic must-have for the pedal collection but it is a one trick pony. I can't crank my tube amp to break up so I need a pedal like this. I also have a Timmy mini for a more transparent overdrive.

After looking at all the Tube Screamers, plus using the "green pedal" on countless modeling software and hardware (Line 6, Fractal Audio), I decided to purchase this pedal to go with my Orange Brent Hinds Terror lunchbox amp. On the Hinds Terror, I like to put the gain knob around 5 - 6.5. This is great for chunky rhythms, but leaves solos a bit lacking in my opinion, so I purchased the Tube Screamer TS9DX. I purchased this pedal because of the 4 modes it has, which always leaves you with more options. The pedal, as expected, doesn't disappoint, and provides more than enough smoothness and warm overdrive for solos, especially on the neck pickup. The original mode boosts the mids, while the other modes add a little more bottom to the sound. Overall a great purchase! ... show more
