  • Replacement
This my second one after 26 years of use. I’d say I got my monies worth. The spring tension finally gave way. The new works beautifully just like the first. Easy install. Definitely recommend this product!

  • Works for my Jotul Gas Stove, remember to remove cardboard inside the front cover of the thermostat.
Installed and did NOT work. Head scratch... On looking inside the thermostat there is a cardboard protector that must be removed for the circuit to be complete... I reviewed the instructions and there is no mention of removing the cardboard protector. Just poor instructions/clarity. Seems to work great in my application. Very pleased, just wasted 30 minutes... ... show more

  • Temperature markings are a soft guideline, but once set, it works like a champ.
Connected it to a fireplace in my living room. Originally, the fireplace had an on/off wall switch. Now it has this thermostat controlling it, automatically. Much better! The temperature markings are way off: I set it to 68 F, and then I let it run for an hour. I used a laser pointer thermometer to check the carpet: 78 F! The furniture, eight feet from the fireplace, was at 78F I adjusted the temp bar down to 66, and the fireplace turned off. I will continue to adjust the temperature setting slider, until the room is just right. Not a big issue for the cost of the unit. It was super-easy to install, and it works superbly, aside from the temperature markings being off. Would buy it again, without hesitation. I can mark the temp slider, myself. Cheers! ... show more

  • It dose exactly what I want it to do.. Can't go wrong for the price..
This is connected to a pellet stove. I can now let it run all day, and if the weather gets warm, I don't come home to a house that is like a oven.. I set it a little above 70 degrees and it shuts off at 74 and relights at 70.. I love it...

  • You may want to buy a different product...
The included instructions are for a different product so that didn't help. To do anything, you have to remove the front cover and there were no instructions on how to do that. I unintentionally broke off one the the securing clips trying to figure out how to remove the cover. If the wires coming out of your wall from the furnace are stiff and the hole in the wall is small, you're going to have a devil of a time installing this. If they are stiff and short, you probably won't be able to install it at all. The mordiots who designed this device did so such that the wires connect to screws on the back instead of coming thru a hole to the front as is usually the case. This means that after making the connection you have to compress the wires between the device and the wall to mount it. With stiff wires, this is difficult. You may, I did, have to enlarge the hole in the wall to accommodate them. If the wires are short, they won't reach the connecting screws since you have to have the device's back facing away from the wall to reach the screws to make the connection. They provide a free optional cover plate to cover the place where the old thermostat was. And that was nice. The problem is that it covers too much on the back side of the thermostat. So much so that it covers one of the connection screws which restricts stiff wires even more. I had to remove part of it to free up the area on top of the screw. The rest of the mounting went OK using the supplied plastic anchors. Once mounted, the temperature setting indicator was very hard to see even in good light. Using an old typewriter white ink correcting pen, I put a dab of white on the tip of the indicator. Now you can see it. Now I'm running temperature checks with a very good quality Min/Max thermometer hanging next to the thermostat. I'll update this review when I have the results. Different subject: If anyone knows of a good quality, programmable, battery powered, millivolt thermostat for heat only, I sure like to hear about it. UPDATE: 12/14/2020 The temperature scale on the device is shown increments of 5 degrees. The device does control room temperature within 2-3 degrees of the setting on the indicator. However, this point is moot in that I was told of a battery powered programmable device which is what I needed. The device reviewed above was removed and the new one was installed with none of the above problems. ... show more

  • Works perfectly 👍
It was pretty easy to install and it works perfectly. I didn't bother to calibrate I am happy with it's function and accuracy. I'm glad that thermostats for old furnaces are still available in good quality.

  • Cover is cheap but so is the price
Installs easy. Works like it should. The cover has little u shaped tabs that snap off when you remove the cover to install it. It does stay on afterwards though. Fine for a workshop. A built in thermometer would be nice though.
