  • Wow!
Size: Large Room Pattern Name: Heater
I have owned MANY spaceheaters - this one is fabulous! Quiet, no weird noises, heats very well (especially for size), slim profile is a nice feature I never knew I wanted/needed, the thermostat is very accurate (most spaceheaters have thermostats but they are nowhere near accurate) and.... it was very cheap to deliver all these things. ... show more

  • Great heater
Size: Large Room Pattern Name: Heater
This has all the safety features I wanted: tipover and overheat protection. It has an 8-hour timer and a thermostat. It works great, and will maintain your preferred temp, even overnight. I've tried a few space heaters and returned them, and this is a fine one.

  • Great! But not perfect...
Size: Small Room Pattern Name: Heater
I have seen some reviews that have had various experiences with this space heater, so I thought I would throw in my opinion. Pros: - It puts out a TON of heat. - It is relatively quiet. No louder than a small desk fan on medium. - It is very small. There would be no problem if you needed to fit it under a desk or table. - The distance it turns is quite large, so if you are looking to heat a room quickly, or apply heat to a wide area, this will do it. - It does have a thermostat and will stop heating once it has reached the set temperature. - On the low setting, if you are not wanting to set a specific temperature, it does quite well keeping an 8'x15' room warm without getting hot. Cons: - The front of the heater does get hot when on high heat. Being some form of plastic, it does not hold heat for long but could potentially burn you or a small child if it has been running for some time and someone touches it. - When you turn off the device it starts a six-second count down before actually turning off. To most this may not seem like a big deal, but I find it ever so annoying that I have to wait for it to shut off. - The tip protection is nothing more than a small button/switch on the bottom of the heater that must be pressed in for the heater to turn on. --> For those with extra thick carpets or wanting to use it on some form of uneven surface, this heater may not be for you. Not to mention that if you wanted to move the heater, you could not simply pick it up and set it somewhere else while it is running. You will need to turn it back on and adjust your settings back to what you want them at. - It does not seem to like using the auto/thermostat feature. --> I'm thinking that it must be due to one of a few reasons that this happens. It could be that the acceptable temperature range the heater will allow below the setpoint is rather large, and I simply haven't had my room cold enough for it to want to kick the heat back on, or it is waiting for the element to cool off before testing the temperature because the heating element affects the accuracy of the internal thermometer. These are just guesses, I really have no clue. - When you turn off the heater, none of your previous settings are remembered. It defaults to high flow/heat, without oscillation. - No remote All that being said, for my uses, this heater is great. I do not mind the lack of a super-accurate/working auto function. I can live with needing to turn it back on if I need to move it. It is small and can be tucked away when I'm not using it. If you are looking for something small that just needs to put out reliable heat, this can work for you. If you need all the bells and whistles and just cannot live without them, you will need to look elsewhere. ... show more

  • The best space heater ever made?
Size: Large Room Pattern Name: Heater
I don't know about you, but I always used to dread autumn when the temperatures begin to drop and landlords wait until the last possible legal date to turn on the heat. The first thing you'll notice about the Honeywell "Slim" is that it is a small, light-weight mini-tower design. But don't let that dissuade you because this compact space heater puts out a LOT of heat! It's a beautiful and stylish product as space heaters go. Honeywell, of course, is an established brand name with an excellent reputation and high quality. Their tower fans are among the best in the business. They are known for their utility, quality and safety features. So when it came time to buy a space heater, Honeywell was a no-brainer. The "Slim" has tip over protection, a six second cool down feature, and the "grill" never gets too hot and cools down very quickly when the unit is turned off. It also has two power settings, a 1500 watts hi setting and an energy-saving 750 watts low setting. At the 1500 watt setting, the "Slim" churns out an impressive amount of heat and doesn't simply slurp down the wattage just to raise your electric bill. The 750 watts setting also does an admirable job of heating the room. The quiet fan never disturbs your sleep. Please note, the LCD display will display "HI" when 1500 watts is selected and "LO" when 750 watts is selected. In other words, "HI" doesn't mean you've selected the highest temperature possible and "LO" doesn't mean you've selected the lowest temperature possible. Temperature is controlled with the thermostat. Just thought I'd mention this since I've seen much misunderstanding in the answers section, with erroneous answers often given. The most outstanding feature of the "Slim," however, is the astonishing sheer volume of hot air it puts out. This thing will actually warm up my entire average-sized one bedroom apartment by a few degrees very quickly. It will, of course, oscillate through 90 degrees with the push of a button. It will reach and hold whatever thermostat temperature you set (shown in a large, orange LCD display). You can also set it to shut off automatically after one, two, four or eight hours. ... show more
