  • Nice and quiet
Size: 4000 Sq. Ft Style: Smart Dehumidifier
We really need this for the basement. Trying to get out the musty damp smell. It worked right off the bat and is easy to operate. Had to install two small pieces which took t second and was just for wrapping the electric cord. Fairly quiet and just the right size for my 3000 square foot house. Easy to empty and very versatile. ... show more

  • Works extremely well, very quiet
Size: 50 Pint Style: Built-In Pump
Purchased this dehumidifier to replace another brand of dehumidifier that we had very bad luck with. The prior dehumidifier had issues. The first one we received didn't work out of the box so we returned it and were sent a replacement of the same brand and model. That dehumidifier failed in less than 3 months. We have had this Honeywell dehumidifier for about 2 weeks now, and not only is it still running, and it seems to be pulling more moisture from the air than the prior dehumidifier did even when it was working. It is fairly quiet even on the high fan setting, but it might be difficult to watch TV if it was in the same room as the TV, but we have it in a hall about 25 feet from the TV and have not had any issues hearing the TV. ... show more

  • A VERY nice unit
Size: 50 Pint Style: Built-In Pump
This would be 5 stars, except for a missing part. However, the manufacturer was VERY responsive and quick to solve the problem. I'll give the whole experience 4.8 stars. This is a very nice, efficient dehumidifier that removes moisture very well, up to 50 pints per day. That's over 6 gallons! I have it set up in my basement (~1900 sq ft) and it has made a huge difference. It is so good that you will want to use on of the two drain options, otherwise you'll be emptying the large tank often. One is a short, gravity drain hose (appx 3 ft.), and the other is a pump-driven system with a longer hose (appx 16 ft) that enables the drain to be ABOVE the dehumidifier- think stationary sink. Honeywell says NOT to use a different or longer hose with the pump feature. Using the pump feature, the tank will ALWAYS be almost full, as the pump siphon only drains the top couple inches of the tank. I'm not sure I like that, as the water could get stagnant over time, IMHO. I'l. have to keep an eye on that, and report back. The tank is bypassed when using the gravity drain, so that won't be a problem. I had an issue with the "Pump" feature not working. I chose to use the pump feature as I wanted to locate the unit farther away from my sump-pump basin, so I wasn't constantly recycling that water. After contacting JMATEK/Honeywell, we determined that the issue was a missing washer in the connection- see pics. They immediately shipped me a new one, and it arrived very quickly. A+ on customer service! PROS: Powerful- up to 50 pints per day Efficient- Energy Star 5.0 compliant QUIET Easy to use, set up CONS: It REALLY likes to be level. If you're having issues with proper drainage, check for proper level Standing water when using the pump. Might not be an actual problem, but I'm not crazy about it All-in-all, I'd buy it again. ... show more

  • Works very well for finished basement
Size: 50 Pint Style: Built-In Pump
*YEAR OF USE UPDATE BELOW* Bought this dehumidifier for a finished basement in the northeast US. It's about 700sf of finished space but all divided into multiple areas with lots of air movement between floors, so I wanted a dehumidifier that would stand up to the rigor without issue. Packaging on it was fine when it arrived. I unboxed it, set it up, and then started running it. No issues for 2 days until it fills with water and I get the E5 error of doom, which is a bad pump. The purpose of buying the larger, more expensive unit was the built in pump, so I could have the drain line run over 15' to my basement bathroom. I call customer service. The company that makes these humidifiers has leased the Honeywell name but they themselves don't appear to be Honeywell. The guy told me to return it to amazon for an exchange and I did just that. I got the second one, set it up, and everything appears to be working normally. If that changes in the near future I'll update this review but all in all, it's a good dehumidifier that's pulling water out of my basement air. It's probably about 65-75 dBA because of the fan and compressor both running, but really it isn't bad. UPDATE I ended up breaking a pump fitting and emailed customer service. After giving them the part info, serial number on unit, and proof of purchase, they sent me a new one free of charge. I've had it for over a year and it's drastically improved the air quality in my basement. I was happy with how good their customer service is. Updated to 5 stars ... show more
