Mine worked for all of a minute. Then *poof! It died. Tried another receptacle but that isn't it. The lamp doesn't have any reset/overload switches like a hair dryer so there is nothing for me to do except contact Honeywell about the warranty. Great light. High quality material. Quality of light is bright and seems natural. Unfortunately I had a problem with the diffuser - after I assembled it I noticed a dent. I contacted manufacturer. They sent me a video of a guy (speaking Chinese) instructing me how to pop the dent out. Video made it appear easy to fix. It was not easy. I utilized a butter knife to pop the dent. It worked. I’m glad because the last thing I wanted to do was to disassemble and pack it all back up and return it. They gave me some money back because what I paid for was not perfect. Plus inconvenience.     • Finally, a “No Shadow” Light for Needlepoint/Cross-Stitching. (My wife loves her anniversary gift!)

If you are looking for a light to do your needlepoint/cross-stitching/reading this is the light for you. My wife loves her new light. She has no ‘shadows’ when counting threads! Her biggest gripe about other lights has been shadows when working on her patterns. Having two lights helps eliminate the dreaded hand shadows. The dimmer allows her to adjust from crafting to watching tv. If you’re wondering, this throws enough light for the entire room…. The base is solid - we’re not worried about it tipping. One small ‘nit’ is that it’s a fixed height. It would have been nice if it would raise/lower, but it’s not a deal breaker. Still five star rating for us. ... show more

Honeywell is a well known brand so I splurged on this lamp despite the high price. It arrived extremely well packaged in layers of styrofoam protection. Assembly was simple with the included instructions which were clear and easy to follow, but the lamp is very tall and awkward so I needed help to wrangle it around. I had the idea at first that I would be able to port this lamp around the house for wherever I needed an extra boost of light but there’s no way I’m moving it again. The base is very heavy and the lamp is stable but with all the weight plus the height it’s in a permanent location in my clay studio. I am a little disappointed that it isn’t much brighter for the high cost, and I don’t really like the modern industrial type of styling, but these are the only drawbacks. The cord is long enough and the rotary dimmer switch operates smoothly. The whole lamp feels very well made and it is certainly a quality product. As for the lighting, I compared it to my five-headed lamp that I have souped up with 100 W equivalent LEDs (I think they’re 1400 lumens each.) It doesn’t illuminate the space as much, but that may be because the Honeywell lamp casts more light downward than upward. Because of this, I homed it over by my worktable. It illuminates this space very well. The quality of the light is one of the best things I noticed about it. The CRI is listed as greater than 98. The pictures they use to demonstrate a high CRI are not helpful to me, so I tried to capture the difference by photographing a handful of brightly colored sculpting tools. The vibrancy is definitely punched up when lit by the Honeywell lamp compared to my standard light. Overall, I am pleased with this lamp and it delivers on its performance claims, but I have to knock a star since I don’t feel the value for the price. ... show more
